[UPDATE] Quirky Acuity June 15th

Some things I don't know

I don't know what to say. At first I was too shocked by the solution you guys sent me to know how to respond. And then there was this . And now all I feel is, well, betrayed. I don't know who sent that information to my dad. I don't know why they did it. I suppose that I'd have had to go to the police with the info anyway. But I just - with it happening this way - I just feel like suddenly I'm the enemy. And I don't know what to tell my dad, and I don't know whether you'll tell him first. I just - I don't know how to trust you.
Looks like we won't be getting much more info from Violet for a bit...

I don't think we'd be getting much info from her anymore, anyways. Methinks she's going to "disappear" sometime in the near future. Hopefully her disappearance will somehow lead to a better source of information/riddles for us (I'm hoping for some communication between us and Kurt).

A bit of [meta] here, but I mean, c'mon: the PMs -must- have known that someone would tell Sente or the Sentinel (strange name similarities, no?). Obviously they were prepared, seeing as the article came out and the plot changed to arrest Entrescore.
But yeah, I'm not much bothered that Violet is sad... maybe I'm just a bad person.

The problem here is that it is all fine and dandy if we say, as a group, that we will keep the information private, there are still people working as individuals out there as well as dissenting opinions within the group. While I personally believe the best action is/was to share the result with Violet and let her do what she wanted with it. If she ended up doing nothing after a week, then we might have re-evaluated our position. I do understand that there are individuals out there--maybe they have their own ideas and are following their conscience, maybe they are just nasty trolls that want to stir things up. Regardless, it is a little unrealistic to think that absolutely nobody, whether part of our collective or otherwise, would tell Sente, The Sentinel, etc. It is also a little unrealistic and unfair to "punish" the group for the actions of individuals. (In this case, "punish" just looks like she is now uncertain about extending her trust, which can still be a powerful sentence.)

Frankly, I'm glad someone told her daddy, or whatever. At least something might happen in response. And really, PM's, no need to try and guilt us. a bit sappy, no?

Umm.. shouldn't she be more concerned that the six have been named and that one of them was close to her father? Unless of course Violet has reason to believe that the police and Sente are involved in the missing cube in some way and her private investigation is the only way to get the information she needed. Now the that Aiko has been apprehended.. anything Violet could have retrieved from Aiko is lost. Not to mention.. the recons are now looking for an intruder... and she would be a high target on their list of suspects. i.e. Sente recieves info about Recons from the recons compound.. Violet is Sente's daughter and only recently visited the compound.. the recons will know its her.. unless of course they think it is Kurt.. surely number two on their list of suspects. Nice knowing you Violet and Kurt.
Anyways.. someone should email Violet and tell her that she put the information about the whole recon compound up on a blog!! So much for wanting to keep it secretive. If it was such a huge concern.. she wouldnt of posted info on a public forum. Sente would have seen it sooner or later considering Scarlettes blog was a test run between the two worlds and she created it with Sentes help.

There are also the potential knock on affects - will anyone from that world trust us now - especially as I suspect The Sentinel will run a few comments on this - as will we I guess. There is also the kiteway family plus any from the University and even the Cube retrieval team.
Some will like us, some the opposite, just makes it a lot more interesting.
(P.S Sente Nil? Maybe Sente doesn't exist )

Perplex City is supposed to be filled with puzzle solvers.
Violet's dad is head of the Academy.
She linked the puzzle in her blog.
I guarantee her blog is monitored by the Academy.
So why did it have to be one us us "Earthers" that told her dad or The Sentinel? Why couldn't it have simply been someone from the Academy who solved the puzzle and got the information to Sente or The Sentinel?
EDIT:
Well silly me, it says right in The Sentinel article:
"However, an anonymous police source has informed the Sentinel that Kiteway had himself received a tip-off from an Earth individual who claims to belong to a military group, the "255th UNSC Marine Battalion.""
So that's how Violet knows it was one of us.... heh.

I wonder, though, if there would've been an anonymous tip-off, even if nobody around here owned up to it (ie: this is how the plot was supposed to go anyway).

I have a bad feeling the people of Perplex City won't take kindly to us interfering with their affairs, whether to do with the Cube or not. The fact that it mentions a military group probably won't help the matter either... Well, we'll just have to see what the letters read next update.

Why should Violet trust us?
Hey, the Cube is supposedly on Earth and I doubt that whoever sent it here threw it out of their world like a beer can from an open car window. After all, if it's important enough to murder for, then it's too important to abandon, no?
Perhaps the burglar(s) found a way across and are holding it, or perhaps it's in the hands of an ally. Either way, 'the opposition' is probably able to monitor Quirky Acuity and this forum.
And, just to raise the paranoia level one more notch, as self-aware as this whole adventure has been, 'the opposition' may in fact be one or more of the posters to this forum. If I wanted to muddy the waters, that's what I'd do. Anyway, every communication thus far is already compromised.

meh. whole bloomin' kiteway fFamily's half useless. so she doesnt trust us. eh. she'll get over that soon enough and start questioning her trust in those around her, like aiko.

and violet has all sorts of not-quite-nice things to say about the recons. so like, she needs to realize Aiko is one of the "Wacky Religious", and what we -- we being her and us -- fFound is "deeply worrying".
Mind, i dont especially think Aiko did it. It doesnt seem right. But I'm just talking about violet here.

Surely though they would have found out anyway?
I mean Violet and Kurt were snooping around the compound and they find something. What do they expect by stealing private information from a religious sect. Violet has obviously bitten off more than she can chew and now has to face the consequences for her actions.
If it wasn't for her snooping nobody would have ever contacted her father.

Personally, I think, from her point of view, it's the most sensible thing she's done in months! At last, Violet thinking about the consequences of her random actions!
But it sure as hell doesn't help us, I fear...
And whether she was ever *really* going to be any use or not is not, truly, the point...
