<BelleReve> it doesn't look good on my resume that I didn't last long here, and they're not going to give me a good referral
<Midnight> Well, I can imagine teaching is a lot different from attending school
<BelleReve> yeah, but I always thought that teachers were to be respected
<BelleReve> maybe it's because I was too young
<BelleReve> all my teachers had gray hair
<Midnight> The kids gave you a hard time?
<Midnight> I hope I'm not prying too much. Just kick me if I do Wink

<BelleReve> I tried too hard to be their friend, I think
<BelleReve> because they started mocking me
<BelleReve> and it was frustrating, because I wanted them to like me
<BelleReve> i thought if they just liked me, they would learn
<BelleReve> but they just wanted to make my job difficult! none of them wanted to listen to me
<BelleReve> and I was in one of the better classes
<Midnight> High school kids like to test their limits. I guess you have to establish boundaries before you can become their friend
<Midnight> Not that I'd be a good teacher. Kids scare me Wink

<BelleReve> of the other teachers...got a black eye once. Never talked about it, but we knew she didn't walk into a door
<Midnight> that's pretty bad...
<Midnight> Was this at Appleharbor?
<BelleReve> but she was teaching basic math to the remedial students
<BelleReve> those future criminals aren't interested in anything
<Midnight> As far as teaching jobs go, that sounds pretty tough.
<Midnight> Perhaps you'd like teaching younger kids better?

<BelleReve> I'm not very good around kids
<BelleReve> I thought high schoolers would be mature enough
<BelleReve> I'm not so much older than they are
<Midnight> That might have something to do with it
<Midnight> As you said, most teachers are grey-haired. It might be hard for them to respect authority from someone their own age

<BelleReve> I don't expect I'll ever go back to that
<BelleReve> and I don't know how much longer I can keep doing this web page
