Well, I'm going to call the day before with a (hopefully) final number, so if we can get it nailed down by then, that'd be great. Although I don't think one extra at the last minute would hurt.

What are you doing on April 23rd?
Come to the New Langton Arts in San Francisco and participate in Organum.

The Game
The Organum Playtest is a videogame in which groups of three gamers travel from the bottom of the lung to the tip of the tongue. Each gamer steers a different aspect of the motion (up&down, left&right, and forward) by singing. The goal of the game is to explore all organs and to destroy pathogens on the way.

Organum was created by a team of artists including Greg Niemeyer, composer Chris Chafe, animators Lorenzo Wang and Christine Liu, programmers Ryan Shaw and Dan Perkel, and game designer Jane McGonigal. During the Brown Bag Lunch talks, Organum participants will discuss their practices and their collaborative methods.

PM me with your email address for more information. Jane McGonigal will be there. She will be giving a talk at 3 pm.

Bah! Texas is too far away from SoCal and it's annoyingly far from Chicago(still trying to work that one out). I think we need a Texan Meet-Up....I'm just not volunteering to organize...not yet....

We'll se what happens in Chicago...if I get there.

San Francisco events

This might get more attention if it were not buried in a SOUTHERN California announcement thread Confused

Additionally to that Saturday event, what about the event on Tuesday the 26th at the Metreon? I saw that one posted in yet *another* version of this SoCal event thread. (Wouldn't a cross-posting be more efficient if it linked to a single thread instead?)

Why am I not starting a NORTHERN California announcement thread? Um, good question. These events are not necessarily restricted to appeal only to beekeepers, but things tend to get lost in the News & Rumors section.

I'm helping a friend move to Morgan Hill on Saturday, but maybe i'll see you next Tuesday!

True, but Jane sent an email around to all the local people. I figured that she would post in Unfiction if she wanted to. I was just alerting moemar because I happened to catch his post that he'd be up here on that day.

Somehow, I got the impression that you had to be a member or something to attend this talk. I am certainly interested and, if it is not exclusive to members of IGDA, I probably will attend.

EDIT: Ok, duh. Reading really is helpful. From that link you posted:
"IGDA membership is encouraged, but not required, for participation in meetings and events."

Announcing the ARGN Southern California ARG Party!

When: Saturday, April 23, 2005 at 7:00 pm

I have just realized that this is the first night of Passover.

As a result, I will be at the home of my uncle and aunt fulfilling "family" obligations, instead of in Huntington Beach partying with my other family.

When I am weepy with disappointment, I do this:
