And I expect you've already figured this out, but...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you copy the tiny text in the middle of the page, the click on it, you're taken to a binary decoder. The tiny text is a binary message which, when decoded, reads:

"You are looking for the cube. Thank you. But you are looking down the wrong rabbithole."

Neat. Cute. Useless. Smile

That's a fansite. You notice the "not in game" word-picture thingy?

Maybe they are telling us they want us to be more proactive in establishing communications (sites) with them? They seemed to allude to this somewhere else before, talking about establishing 2-way communications, etc.

Can everyone please email (well, a few people at least) and ask, maybe in the subject line, "what is a key?"

I think if we flood her a little, she'll answer that one next.

Establishing Communications

I agree. I think they're showing us by example that communication happens best through IG blogs and news sites. Perhaps this is the model we need to adapt in order for us to communicate with them as well? Not just commenting on Scarlett's site or queries to the Sentinel, but a well-done, accessible, in-game site (obviously all content would need be in-game).

Maybe what's meant by, "not how well you play the game, but how well the game plays you," is that we have to take a PM approach to playing. Marshall our resources, give ourselves an official name ("Recovery Efforts Committee / Extraterrestrial Development Agency" Laughing ), assign ourselves character roles and then play those roles to the hilt through organized/professional feedback sites. Maybe this will further action with our allies across the gulf?

Kinda surreal, two PM teams interfacing in an AG Universe, but sure would make for an unusual twist in game play!

Indeed as do I but it's kind of cute - plus we get to realise what the young 'Perplexian' can do in our world. Seems like she be good at surfing the web that's for sure!

Also at least we realise it wasn't her who died Wink

Done. I also think that Alison is on to something, and that an official group is needed to create the link that Scarlett and/or The Academy is looking for.

several people seem to be suggesting much the same thing (myself included). Build some method of everyone communicating in a blog/forum/message-board, both in our world and in theirs.

The troubles which instantly become obvious are these:

1) Getting perlexians to communicate on it. Right now we have scarlett's blog only by special arrangement with the Academy. And as handy as it would be to post messages asking sente directly "Where is the bloody cube!?" I dont think he's likely to take us up on it.

2) Establishing something run by a neutral party. Anyone can run a website. I have 2 or 3 at my house. As an april fFool's prank, a dozen other people and I set up a needlessly complex website -- on a whim. websites are simple. fForums are a cinch. *Anyone* on the internet can run one. Almost too easy: the trick is agreeing on who should run it, what it should look like, and how it should work.

The alternative is to use what we have, which is fFor us to send e-mail to them, and they send websites to us. Which, if you dont mind my saying so, seems a lot simpler.

These are not the only options. We can make it a game fFor them as well, such as by buying our own Lost-and-found classified ads, and using that as a medium.

Puzzle for Scarlett

In the vein attempt to broaden lines of communication between Earth and Perplex City, I have sent the following email to Scarlett.

28,2 22,18,0,13,29,1,31,31
30,29,1,0,22,1 22,1,12,27 3,21,13,1 21,12
28,21,23 23,1 18,0,12 28,1,29,30 10,2,12,27 31,28,1
18,5,9,1
31,28,21,5,19,28,31 6,21,5 3,2,19,28,31 29,2,20,1
31,28,2,22 1,0,22,6 30,5,15,15,29,1 0,22 0,12
0,29,31,1,13,12,0,31,2,14,1 31,21 0 12,21,13,3,0,29
1,3,0,2,29
23,1 29,21,21,20 10,21,13,23,0,13,27 31,21 6,21,5,13
13,1,30,29,6
3,0,12,6 31,28,0,12,20,22
13,21,9,30,0,29

For fun, who can decipher it first?

Maybe communicating in the language of puzzles will increase their faith in us being on the same wavelength as they are.
