Searching around the internet for everything related to PushNV lead me to Collective Detective. Made some friends in chat and learned a little.
Found Unfiction and learned more.
Signed up for Chasing the Wish and learned tons more.
Got caught up in Acheron and learned too much.
Was totally sucked into Urban Hunt and learned how much I didn't know.
Now hoping to have just enough time in my life to be around for the next life-sucking event (but have to wait until hubby is out of the country in order to be able to hang out in chat and be online when a new website & puzzle is discovered at midnight).

I entered the scene through a little thing called ILB.
/me twitches
I need therapy to get over what that thing did to my brain. Before ILB I was sane! I was introduced to ILB through my friend who noticed the link at the end of the trailer. He thought the site had given him a virus (I know, but he is a little stupid) and sent me to investigate. I got caught up and saw the mention of an ILB chat channel. I joined and entered the wonderful world of ARGs. At the end i joined #unfiction and have been lurking and making sexual innuendo ever since.

It started with fanfiction, same as anything else (I'll refrain from mentioning this time, about how this particular series of fanfiction resulted from a trip to idaho, and a burning desire not to have the first Boris and Natasha fanfiction in existance).
I'd been writing for Agents: The Series, a relatively sucessful Matrix fanfiction series, for over a year, when I had the falling out. A few months later, bored, I decided to go and peek in on the forums. The Matrix is Real? I thought with a quirking eyebrow, what is that?
Frusterated with the lack of info on MY messageboard, and having thought myself into a dead end. I googled, and there it was.
Unfiction.
The solution to my sanity.
Of course, then TMIR turned out to be a REAL cult and not just a game. But hey, you can't be right ALL the time..

I noticed a link in the letters page of this month's Edge to ARGN.
'Ooh that looks interesting' says I, and I investigated. Here I am, after having lurked a couple weeks, feeling somewhat out of my depth.
Been bored recently, need something more than beer and random wandering to keep me occupied til I start college in a few months

Penny Arcade mentioned Bees. I said, What does Penny Arcade have to do with Bees?
I went to a sight, it proclaimed scary things to me. I was chilled, then intrigued. Then I found Unfiction, and discovered it was a game. At that point things got more confusing.
Axon Day was 2 weeks away, and this place was exploding. I sat in the the chatroom, almost silent for a week, just watching what people were saying, and piecing together their thoughts with the Wiki. I would say, that with 2 straight weeks of research, studying printouts, and looking things over with a friend over coffee, I was ready to participate by Axon day. Since everything was so confusing up to that point, I decided that would be the day I would start to contribute, because it seemed apparant that the entire game would change as of that day.
I was right.

When I first read about Majestic: The Game That Plays You, I said, "Oooooooooooooooooooooh, it calls you on the phone and sends you messages, where do I sign up?" and my husband said, "WHAT? ARE YOU INSANE? YOU ARE GOING TO GIVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER TO A STRANGER?"
He's kind of a party pooper, but he's growing to understand my ARGitis.

Your first ARG What was the first ARG that caught your attention and really dragged you into the whole community? How did you discover it, and what made you keep playing?
For me, it was I Love Bees. I heard rumors from my Halo-obsessed friends that something was wrong with the new trailer, so I went to take a look. Lo and behold, I saw the mysterious rabbit hole at the end of the trailer. After some investigation, I had been watching The Screensavers, and they highlighted argn.com. I signed up and played ILB with the community. The constant developments and phonecalls are what kept me hooked to it. To this day, I still dream of another, well-done ARG similar to ILB, but I don't have my hopes up.

My ARG-widower says "hi" to your ARG-widower.
I showed him around the City of Dome site the other day (he found it himself and complained that there was nothing there, every thing he clicked on just reloaded the same page - he didn't know about the login screen, etc). He even played the Logan's Run DVD for me with the captioning on (incase there were clues in the character dialogue) and just informed me that he bought all three paperback books on eBay. But insists that he doesn't want his own citizen account and then, as usual, accuses me of spending more time thinking about the game than sitting on the couch with him watching tv.

The Beast.
Stumbled over the "Machine Therapist" part - since then I've been falling.

I originally came here by mistake because someone told me I could find pictures of Britney's boobies here. Then I just stayed because I was too lazy to go anywhere else.

Discovered Chasing the Wish about half way through when doing random searched through Yahoo Groups. That led to Unfiction. Finished CTW, played the whole of Acheron, was BTS on AWARE, got burnout in ILB, got hit by two hurricanes back to back in Sept. 2004. Still in recovery from all that. Looking to get in on the ground floor of the next game at some point (if it has more than discovering the rabbit hole, I'm already too far behind). I don't have the stamina to hunt through the archives and play catch up at this point.

I was first drawn into the world of ARGs by an ad on my forum. It mentioned something about the most real game you'll ever play. It was an ad for Aware 2. It hadn't started yet so I browsed around and led to me to "Avelon", y first ARG. It wasn't too far in and I liked what I saw. I felt important as people knew who I was. It drew me in the more I stayed and played. Now I am firmly hooked.
