Isn't that what happened to Mr. Brett Ambigram?

I had me a think. What if we are supposed to do nothing> what if the point of this part of the game is to teach us to not fFollow every little thing. Sometimes the best way to play a game is to no longer play a game. Sit back in your chair and say "this game is absurd and I'm not playing any longer."
Suppose fFor a moment, all of the perplex city denizens we have been exposed to decided to collaborate and design a game whose sole purpose is to Not be a game. They want to test us and see how long it takes fFor us to realize the game is: there is no game. It's a test. a test at a ruse. Like trying to teach an AI "a simple negation" by telling it no all the time. You're not teaching it the answer to it's questions, you are teaching it what negation is.
So perhaps that's what we have in our hands. a game which is not a game at all, but a test designed by the perplexians to see if we will choose to not play it.
I'm not saying we quit playing and walk away fFrom it all. I'm proposing we tell sente we are on to him, and are ready fFor the next challenge.

Did anyone ever see a documentary on Channel 4 in the UK a couple of years ago called "The Great Reality TV Swindle"?
A guy set himself up as a big-time TV producer making the ultimate reality TV show, but he had no backers, no channel intersted and no real crew or equipment. The idea of the show was for the contestants to earn themselves a million pounds in one year without doing anything illegal.
The whole thing fell apart pretty quickly because the guy was a complete fantasist and more interested in the idea of the show than he was able to actually put it together.
I wouldn't go as far as to put PC on a par with this story, but I do think maybe they hadn't anticipated the amount of work it would take and so it's taking longer, or maybe they actually don't know what to do next?
Alternatively, they could be making it too hard for us to crack and so could be forced into a rethink....

Or maybe they're letting us stew for a bit, laughing at us going mad...
Well, laughing at you all going mad, I'm not mad.
I'm not!
Jeb.
(not mad.)

"Oh, you cant help that," said the Cat; "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're Mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

To head back towards topic... ,-_-,
It appears that the perplexians cannot transport objects between their world and ours, or they'd simply have sent a team of their own through to recover the cube. (I'm assuming the cube's ability to move between worlds is unique, maybe this is why it's so significant scientifically?) This means that they aren't going to send us any physical payment, so how do they hope to persuade us to return the cube? For that matter, HOW are we supposed to return the cube in any case?

The payment could information, knowledge, scientific discoveries. Doesn't have to be money. Or, maybe they could sort out some sort of wire transfer?
Of course, the reward could be a huge lie just to get us interested. I hope Sente's got a good apology if that's the case.

well if we are thinking along the lines of money, i dont think the first question should be how can they send it to us? it should be, how are we going to get the cube to them? because without getting them the cube, no reward

Maybe the reward will be a little more philosophical, along the lines of an episode of Dr. Quinn, Medicine woman, where the undertaker is consumed by greed at the thought of all that Injun gold, but eventually realises (with the gentle persuasion of the 113 year old Jane Seymour) that little Jimmy needs his triple bypass (accomplished by use of leather bellows and some crafty darning) more.
Or perhaps the MCs are putting up the reward and it's how Sente's paying them that is the real question

They'll probably just pay us in Lecks, and seeing as there is no exchange rate between Lecks and dollars or sterling or whatever, the reward will just be a medal
Knowing them, made of plastic >P
