I thought it might have something to do with the battle of thermopylae or marathon. There were also alot of bungie references (truth) (spartans),but the page was full of 8s not 7s.

looks like there's a Margie's Candy on Western Ave in Chicago. That's probably the source.

edit: whoops, I missed crazedcow's response. I need sleep...

What happened?

Gamem8ker sucks at making games is what happened. This is worse than ET for the Atari 2600.

margie must represent a landmark, a statue or something, on Western Avenue (wherever that is)

I'm from Chicago, (until the end of this month anyway) and Margie's Candies on Western Ave is a landmark ice cream parlor that is over 80 years old. I think the refrence to seeing rich and poor and everyhitng else may be because the location might be considered between rich and poor neighborhoods?

I am beginning to agree. How sad.

I guess this is why Gamem8ker said we should have a team from all around the world. I'm just north of Chicago and I've never heard of the place.

Maybe it means the type of people that visit there?
Quote:
Open since 1921 and visited by the Beatles after their Comiskey Park show, Margie's Candies is a Chicago legend.
That would explain seeing the rich, I'd think, and the average customer would be the poor and everything between.

I hope we get a better riddle today, one that is actually clever and not godforsakenly obscure.

The challenges are user made, so you can't blame the gamem8ker or whoever for them sucking....If you want better puzzles then submit some.
