Not sure where this belongs..

It came from 845*******@vmobl.com. 845 is Chicago if I'm not mistaken.

Edit: Removed personal info by request. -SpaceBass
Edit#2: Topic clarity. -SpaceBass
Edit #3: Added title of ARG to... title, re: ARGN posting - ScarpeGrosse
Edit#4: Topic spelling, because I can't stand that txt msg jnk. -SpaceBass

845 is the area code for the greater Hudson Valley NY, I know this as it's also my area code.
In the past the area code was 914, changed to 845 due to population growth several years back, 914 now remains only in Westchester county (home of Robert Deniro, James E. Jones and a few other big names, I think spears was buying a house there or in sullivan county...)

vmobl may be short for Virgin Mobile the cheap-ish pay-as-you-go provider which also ironiclly enough I have as my cell service.

Patmon is the only other Active Unfi. ARGer in the hudson valley that I am aware of. If i remember the wild goose chases for Axons he setup in faulty spots with bad GPS coordinates and misdirrecting sign and broken payphones correctly...
He ows me a drink, and he lives local to the city of Kingston NY, also in the 845 area code.

Just thought it was all worth mentioning.

Um, I'm pretty new at this, but I don't suppose this is anything: http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd is it?

<KAshley> I agree, they also use assumed names; it makes them hard to track. Our primary targets so far are known as, Corla, JustLurking, and Kscane4life, it is imperative we track these people down and stop them as soon as possible.

oooh... you guys are in trooouuuble

Nice solve!

Luke: where did you come up with that? Looks like it is just a tutorial of sorts for html nothing special...

Maybe it is -

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Its in the source for www.facab.org/log01 at the top of the page. www.w3.org seems legit.

This is the tag in the source you are talking about.

Quote:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"

It is like a footnote in a book, that is, it is a reference. This is where they got the style sheet. Where they found the type of html they are using in the webpage.

Good looking in the source, but this particular tag doesn't refer to anything IG it just tells you about the style of html they are using, and where you can find it if you would like to use it on your own webpage.

Well...looks like I am Def on FACAB's Hitlist...

A few moments ago my sidekick rang with an "Unknown number"....The call went like this.

"Is this Mr. Kane?"
"Yes"
"I am from FACAB and this is regarding your contact with Alesha. I suggest you stop all contact with her immediatly or you can be imprisoned or face fines"

At this point Iw as a bit flustered because In my years of ARGS I have never done a "Live" call...<Very nice touch BTW>. I decided to throw him a curveball....

"If this is true I would like to be sent a list of your credentials and a badge number please..."

"That can be arranged....Goodbye"

Dun Dun Dun....

There ebtter not be black vans parked outside my house when I get home

<A very impressed>
Kane

Whoa, scary! Good idea asking for their credentials, asking why you're being warned not to help Alesha would probably have gotten a 'this is a matter of national security' response. It'd be VERY cool if you actually recieved them...

So what happens next? I'm going to go back over the emails Alesha recieved and see if I can glean anything new from them (and maybe ask Alesha just how well does she know her friend Janice), but apart from that, I'm out of ideas.

EDIT: Perhaps Kevin Ashley (KAshley) and Thomas Sipper (TSipper) have email addresses @facab.org? What sort of approach would be taken (assuming they do have email addresses there) to get a response- all-out accusations or a more subtle, carefully-formulated email?

Subject: hi, how is everyone?
Hi everyone, B i thought i'd send you all an email just to let you know i'm doing very well. atox I went shopping yesterday and bought a cute skirt and a new pair of jimmy choo boots, yhngw figured that if i'm going to be getting on with my life I may as well look great!! t

I'm sorry I haven't updated my blog recently, ptr it brings back too many memories which doesn't serve my 'getting on with my life' objective too well does it? mh Janice emailed me a link to a speed dating register and I thought I might check it out tomorrow, vhffngbvtmx and try my luck in the game again. pbma

Oh my goodness, rhn did anyone else read the paper today? tee. About that girl who died from the flesh eating bacteria? mabl EW That was so gross -bl I feel sorry for her parents though, cnlm what a horrible way for your daughter to die! t lftee

That's enough meaningless gibberish from me today- fxlltzx I might throw something up on my blog now, mh about how I've admitted defeat. exm

I'll email you all again later. rhn but for now - dghp cya later. b

- pbee Alesha

Resume

Just sent an e-mail to FACAB (or whatever the heck it is) asking them where to send my resume Smile. I wonder if they are hiring? Anyway, just getting here, have read all of the posts and am ready to get involved. Good day!

One quick question though... ummm, how did these people get your phone numbers? I haven't seen any forms to fill out as of yet. Thanks.
