Good work on finding those lyrics. The second line is a song from the movie euro-trip called "Scotty Doesn't Know"

The 'step closer' line could be from One Step Closer by S Club Juniors, which was used in Project Gateway as one of the songs on Emily's page.. it doesn't fit exactly though.

Great work on those, guys, I never thought we'd be able to get anything out of that lot.

A bit more work and all I can be at all confident of is:

"Way you arrive"
"get sky, where ev"

Beyond that I can get individual letters here and there, but no complete words without risking just making it up.

Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break

Linkin Park- One Step Closer

Does this seem about right? We don't have anything non-generic to work on with that song.

@ 5th Earth, where do those lyrics fit in to the rest of it? Are they separate lines?

Seperate lines. They're both on the right side, if that matters.

Compression

I know this has been talked about before (wondering about hidden text in pictures) - but every pic seems to have a different compression ratio (according to gqview). How come? I mean, if it's more or less the same pic, why should it be so radically different (ranging from 5.7 to 9.7)? Might just be the way jpg works...

Just a thought

PS> I read that the "ducky" word at the start of the pics meant it had been done in photoshop (nevermind the "Adobe" keyword right after...). As far as I can recall, photoshop uses "layers" - any way of recovering those from a picture? I mean, if each line of the text in the background was a different layer, it might be possible to strip them off the background.

There is no way to recover the layers unless you can find the original PSD file. The jpeg cannot save the layer information.

So I spent some quality time with google and here's what I found regarding that third line found:

"a step closer, baby" brings up only one result found at another search site that happens to have "a step closer" and "Baby" appearing next to each other. That article links to the BBC's news site. Link: "a step closer, baby"

"a step closer to you" links to a number of Kim Wilde lyric sites, such as http://www.kimwilde.com/kwe/anothersingle.html where you can look over the lyrics. However, the word 'baby' does not show up in that song.

It appears that this set may not be correct? Or at the least appears not to be connected in ways that Google can find. Could you double check the words? Just seems like the two sides should result in one phrase that can be found somewhere.

Yeah, no lyrics that fit that precisely. If that "you" is actually a "the", it could be those lyrics I posted, which puts both bands in about the same place on the radio dial. The scotty song's a bit off the wall, though.

No, the "you" and the "the" are BOTH there in there, the "the" is actually another word that comes after "you". The question mark signifies I'm not sure if that's what it is. A fair amount of my work relied on having a good guess what the word actually was based on context--since "the" was cut off by the edge of the image, making it impossible to see the end of the word, I couldn't be sure if "the" was correct, especially as it's hard to make sense of "Step closer to you the..." no matter what the cut off portion was.

I've checked and I'm fairly confident in my analysis. The only probable error is that the first "a" is actually an "e", which would put us even closer to the S Club Juniors song, but there's still the issue of the "to heaven" bit. Other than those two words it fits perfectly, even the "the" at the end (starts the next line).

Ok either my connection is playing up or it keeps skipping when it gets to the lyric "never crossed my smiling face"

Ok its called Tough enough and its by Vanilla Ninja.

Full Lyrics:

Baby only the strong would survive
Over mysteries of life
Only fantasy keeps you away
In the
lonely fields of those broken shields

[Chorus]
So keep on kicking
The bomb is ticking
Don`t
stop, don`t be a runaway
Go for the fire
Baby are you tough enough
Just keep on living
And
don`t start giving
The devil good reasons
To get you in the seasons of heartbreak
Baby are
you tough enough

[Baby are you tough enough]

Yeah my skin is a dangerous place
Never trust
my smiling face
With a touch I can change all your dreams
And my kiss can wake feelings you can`t
take

[Chorus]

[Baby are you tough enough]
[Baby are you tough enough]

[Bridge]
I
will meet you there
cousd I need you there
Oh tonight

[Chorus]

[Baby are you tough enough]
[Baby
are you tough enough]

[Chorus]

Baby are you tough enough
