What is the relevence of next gen?

I think it just refers to the next generation of console, rumours are that it will be called the 360 ("Next" and "Xenon") were also bandied about, although the emergence of a ferrari 360 in a puzzle lends some weight to the 360 theory.

I would expect Microsoft to be beefing up the console's PC side; like web surfing or something, it makes sense and it means it really is a next generation somewhat uniting PCs and consoles.

the term next-gen refers to all 3 of the next generation or iteration of game consoles from Nintendo, SONY, and Microsoft. Thus it refers to the Nintendo Revolution, the PS3 and the XBOX 360 (or w/e it's name is). There is a believed link between ourcolony and the next Xbox or rather the "next gen" xbox.
