I used seeking as subject, answers as body, got
Quote:
It is impossible to understand a myth as a continuous sequence. This is why we
should be aware that if we try to read a myth as we read a novel or from left
to right, we don't understand the myth, because we have to apprehend it as a
totality and discover that the basic meaning of the myth is not conveyed by
sequence of events . . . but . . . by bundles of events even though these
events appear at different moments in the story. Therefore we have to read the
myth more or less as we would read an orchestral score . . . And it is only by
treating the myth as if it were an orchestral score, written stave after stave,
that we can understand it as a totality, that we can extract meaning out of the
myth.
----------
From the midst of the menhirs
It seems the world
Was born right here
And here returns
a guide will be in touch soon in response to your request
then "lessons"

Reply from the Guides When asked what I sought, I wrote "wisdom". Here is the reply I received.
What you seek is a secret you cannot know.

Still, there are often many paths to common destinations. Which shall you
choose?

~H~(for my first email to them i sought Digitalis)
Same thing here.....same request, same response.

I also received:
What you seek is a secret you cannot know.
Still, there is much you may yet be taught. Prepare yourself with an open mind.
Your guide will be in touch soon with your next lesson.
Yeah, yeah. There is no spoon.

Actually, RPG,
If you read my post, Permanence is the subject I used to mail
them, not that they sent me.
As it says in my post, they sent me "What do you seek"
Just some chlorine for the fact pool.

This is what I received from the Guides: (Dale got the same one)
Quote:
Subject: What You Seek
What you seek lies in a place you cannot go.
Yet still, your request necessitates a journey. Be prepared to come to us at a
moment's notice.
Your guide will be in touch soon with a destination.
I asked for a doorway to other dimensions the first time.
Barbara and I (someone else too, sorry, I don't remember who) got the same quote from Levi-Strauss' Myth and Meaning before.
And I see Barb, you got the one about "lessons" this time.
We are getting different responses from the guides this time and so it would seem there is no correlation between the guides replies now and their previous replies to "What do you seek?"

I was wondering which group you got Myssfitz. So that idea has fizzled. At CD there is a spec about what jobs each of the catagories will get.

From Passion
The three sections I've seen so far fit in with the different aspects of this quest.
"next lesson" - Figuring out the motivations and hidden agendas involved in what
is going on.
"next instructions" - Technical things - like solving puzzles, etc.
"destination" - The activities that will happen in r/l and real time.
Just a thought - They are doing this to keep in touch with the groups to make communication
easier, but not barring us from taking part in the other activities.
So far "lessons' seems to have the most reported incidents

I know Barb, shot my original theory too. What I noticed now was:
Asking for another world= Journey
Asking for truth etc= Lesson (maybe the guides feel there are lessons to be learned still. Maybe there is no real answer to truth, power, knowledge etc. in the guides mind/wisdom)
Where is Dale or Digitalis= next instructions (will the guides send them instructions to get them back?)
Didn't it say in the rules/FAQ that how we interact, where we go, and/or what questions we ask will determine which path/route we will end up taking?
Edit- See below in bold please.
http://www.chasingthewish.com/faq.html
Real World Items and Events
(21) How do I get involved in the Chasing The WishReal World Items and Events?
As the plot of Chasing The Wish unfolds, there will be items and artifacts from the story that "manifest" themselves in the real world to be found, received, and manipulated by the players. Where and how these items are distributed will be influenced by several factors, including the story of the game, the geographic distribution of the player base, the availability of suitable locations and local assistance, and the identity of the players who first solve certain puzzles or do certain things. Additionally, Chasing The Wish may incorporate certain real world events and activities into the story. You get involved with these real world items and events by simply participating in them, if any of them are close enough to you. Whether you search for an item or go to a certain location or not is entirely up to you. TOP

I went for the gate-theory. Does this mean Dale asked the same question since he got the same answer? (Does it also mean that I will get my house torched )
