Unfiction Fantasy Football League

The other day, Cortana and I were discussing playing fantasy (american) football this year, and we had the idea of starting an UnFiction fantasy (american) football league. If there is enough interest, I'll start up a league and 10 of us can play. If there are more than 10, we can set up a few leagues.

If you are interested, you can reply to this post or PM me to let me know.

Only if we can arrange a conference call or webcam for the draft. The best part of any league is cracking on everyone else during the draft.

I'm in if enough people sign up.

In other news, your new avatar is from Belgian Cafe, right?

Well, I've done live online drafts before. In fact, I've been in IRC with Cortana to conduct drafts.

And yes, the avatar is from the belgian cafe.

Biopunk, you can still play from another country. The league will be set up on Yahoo!.

how does this work exactly? We just have to pick a team once, or what?

Generally more involved than that Rose...depending on how its set up, you have to pick a QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 K, 1 DEF (there are tons of different combo's too) and you score points based on how those players do. You can add/drop players during the season, make trades with other teams, etc. A bit complicated, and its favors football fans, so if you're into the NFL you'll enjoy it, if not, YMMV.

I just bought an iBook, and it comes with a free iPod mini (after rebate of course). Would everyone be willing to pay a $20 league fee, and the league winner would get the iPod?

I guess I could sell it outright, but strifey mentioned it in chat, and I thought it was a good idea. Let me know.

But then if you win, you just get to keep the ipod mini you already have.

$20 is fine, Lou, and I look forward to beating you all soundly and thouroughly.

You're right Joe, but I don't mind. Because if I win, I'll essentially be winning the $180 that everyone else gives me. If I lose, then it's like I sold the iPod mini, which I was going to do anyway.

But if people prefer not to pay a league fee, or not win the iPod and just keep the cash, then that's fine too. Will still need 4 more people. I have me, Cortana, JoeBrent, BioPunk, Strifey, and Urthstripe.

I've never done fantasy football, but I am a fan - how hard is the learning curve for it? If it's not too much, count me in

taozero, it shouldn't be too bad. If you have any questions, PM me.

As for the iPod mini, I just gave to my brother because his mp3 player crapped out on him. Sorry about that. But I'll still collect the league fees if y'all want to have a cash prize.
