Did anything Microsoft related happen on the 27th NOVEMBER 1998?

Sorry if this has been asked before?

EDIT- Just noticed the Japanese Dreamcast post. Sorry. Embarassed

Didn't the DC run on a Windows CE OS? Probably no relevence, but I thought I'd throw it in.

I disagree. After deblocking the given image and taking a bidifferential, approximately 5-6 pixel square blocks can be seen, most likely created by JPEG compression at capture time. Jpeg blocks are always 8 or 16 pixels, so these blocks were created before the image was scaled down and compressed for redistribution. Close analysis of the area around the arrow and the boxed numbers on the PCB shows no difference in JPEG artifacting on/around this items. The lack of difference suggests they were in-place the previous time that the image was jpeg compressed. The only logical time that it would have been compressed before the final pass for posting was when it was taken by the camera.

DUDE! you know your stuff. my response would've been "it doesn't look like it's been tampered with to me.. i don't think you can say for certain it's been photoshopped".
but yeah, and i really don't think the white lines are going to have much more to do with this next problem.

No one has thrown this out yet. The html of the flash image E3 page is called "ringoflight" Does this mean anything to anyone?

yup, the new power button on the Xbox360 is known internally at MS as the "ring of light" and is a central feature of the design.

Though if the picture was taken not in a jpeg format then the pictures were altered and saved as a jpeg image surely any artefacts would still be present, and the doctoring would still be present.

but to say "it's clearly been photoshopped in", runs against that, then. That would mean that there would be obvious signs of this, such as artifacts or inconsistencies when zoomed in close on the areas under question.

perhaps this was just me, but I said what I said because I did notice inconsistancy, primarily with the 0 and the lighting of the area inside the 0. The same with the arrow, as it was seen (at least by me) that the fan got lighter on the edge of the arrow. Seeing the large degree of dissagreement, I will check it later today when I have acess to photoshop again.

if you look on the area surrounding the '4', there are other white marks. and one or two around the '0' too.
the only thing i might say, is that the 0 is more in focus than the 4. but then, it's nearer the middle of the picture, which is where the focus is, so that's consistent.

Other things message 512 could have something to do with

I've been googling around noticing different things.. In the year 512 supposedly King Arthurs father Uther Pendragon died, and the search for the holy grail begun. (Who was the messanger?)

On the AACI site the adress is: Main Office: 2400 Moorpark Ave., Suite 300 San Jose CA 95128
Searching for message 95128 brings me to these Interstellar messages.. http://www.daviddarling.info/encyclopedia/I/IRM.html HD95128 is a Teen age message for ursa major and a cosmic call 2 that will arrive july 2047 and may 2049

Yes, I know I'm probably crazy.. Smile

the game has moved to www.c-cure.co.uk.

The site was registered by U Enzo, same as ourcolony, and completing the latest challenge gives the message

You have already done this challenge... Tsk Tsk, the gamem8ker is not happy with snoopy people...

Gogela's Idea

You know... this really might just be an old school punch card pattern. There's something to be said about the oldest computer technology as an overlay to what Microsoft will surely tout as the bleeding edge. <a href="http://homepages.cwi.nl/~dik/english/codes/punched.html" target="_blank">here's a link to punchcard info. </a>
