It has been [spec]ced that this could be part of the prototype circuitry for the XBox360. But nothing firm has come out of that yet.

Could 512 perhaps be better written five one two? That is the way the phone message reads. I also wonder if you are suppose to text message something to number 512. Lots of questions, and I don't have any answers

I tried dialing 512 as an extension to the old phone number, but 5 allows me to leave a phone number and 12 does nothing. Texting doesn't sound like a bad idea though. =)

I have a feeling that we are analyzing this a tad too much. Seems that we already answered the question correctly, the Gamem8ker doesn't need another answer. He specifically asks "have you seen everything?", maybe refering to seeing the BIG picture that it isa pic of the innards of the Xbox 360. Dunno... there seems to be so many avenues to venture down and no way to get answers. Darn you message 512!!! Evil or Very Mad

I dunno... I've just never seen 2 fans like that before, and the metal bar across the top, the mobo at the bottom... it just makes me think that it HAS to be a console. The speculation that it could be x2 hardware could be real, I can't find anything out there that looks remotely close to that.

Also, text message kinda sounds like a good idea. but would you just message 512? what would that mean? how would it gain us anything? It just seems to random to be an answer to the puzzle.

Not sure what good txting would do. I've sent a txt msg to the phone number with 512 as the subject and I've also sent a msg to 512 with the message hi. Dunno, we'll see if anything comes back.

Not likely the insides of an xbox console... when's the last time you've seen transistors like that on a circuit board? It's a little old fashioned for a modern circuit board.

I'm not sure that's it.

My whole thought about it all...

The numbers could be important. Specifically we have 1, 2, 1426, and 112798.
The barcode cut outs are laid specifically like a Player Piano music sheet. Even more amusing is that it is in front of fans... to a player piano blows air to create the music.
The fans are positioned for 5:12. (look at the dots). The left fan has a small arrow on it. Perhaps we are to spin the fan?
The left fan also points to the 4. Maybe we need to turn it to the 0?
There's still AACI.org that says thank you.
It also could be upside down for a reason. Add that to the repositioning of the left fan (7:12), and you get ICAA. Go to ICAA, and toward the bottom is 7-12. Go to the link and you see a picture with a bunch of kids holding letters. (Mensa society)

All this could be crap. But any of it could also be important. Just some fodder for your brain.

I saw this in another forum. Thought it was interesting.

Because this is a cell phone number in the barcode thing - 312-718-8609 - Did you know that you can press # while the message plays and access all the messages that have been left and change the message etc. after correctly entering the password.

So we might be looking for a numerical password. Maybe something having to do with 512 0 4 or any of the other numbers we've been given.

ok now i know this is going to sound stupid. but maybe all we have to do is give the simple answer yes. i mean all the gamem8ker asks is have u seen everything. i mean none of us can seem to figure this one out so maybe we have seen everything there is to see. maybe all the other things that we think are clues are just something to throw us off. we just have to find someway of getting yes to the gamem8ker. just a suggestion.

No one has thrown this out yet. The html of the flash image E3 page is called "ringoflight" Does this mean anything to anyone?
Google finds cheat page for a game called King's Quest 8. or a page called the shadow at oldtimeradiohome.com (what are the numbers 41.11.23).

hope someone gets a lead from this.

Well I was just checking out www.aaci.org, and noticed, as many else have, that 11-27-98, the pic's filename, would be their 25th anniversary. After that I noticed that on the donations page, it says this "Donations: For credit card donations, please call Elaine Wu at (408) 975-2735 ext. 131. ". Now, the hidden numbers on the previous pics were thought to be 1,1, and 3. But what if they were in fact 1,3,1? Perhaps this has something to do with it, maybe I'm completely off track, either way I thought I'd throw it out there. First post by the way.

noblekain: just for clarification's sake, i went over the idea about it being a player piano scroll yesterday, and there are two huge problems with it. all the notes would be the exact same length. that makes for EXTREMELY boring music. even row row row your boat has notes of different lengths, and with a scroll like that, i would imagine it to sound much more like choppy organ music with notes playing over top of each other. player piano scrolls are much more complicated than that.

also, there would be a lot of notes played side by side (anything that is wider than the thinnest hole in the piano music would be at least two notes together), most times this would sound bad, but that piece looks like it would have more than two notes played together, and maybe up to 4. i can't think of any instance where this would sound right at all.

of course if anyone really wants to figure that part out i can tell you how. i'd do it myself, but i'll be afk for the next 4 days.

first, you'll need to figure out where the holes on the extreme sides of the scroll. player piano scrolls would look like it is in the pic. it wouldn't go side to side as the pics of just the holes were yesterday, it would be vertical.

after you figure out where the extreme sides are you can guess that they are probably the top and bottom notes of the keyboard. this may not be true, depennding on what key the piece is written in, but anyone here who understands how to read music could help figure that out.

then you'd figure out how many theoretical holes would be between those two extreme left and right holes if you filled the paper. this will be a huge indication as to whether or not is actual piano music becuse if the number of holes extends beyond the range of a standard keyboard ( 88 ) then you know it more than likely is not music.

if it fits perfectly or pretty close, but still under 88, then you have some real work cut out for you.

since you already know the theoretical max number of holes in the paper then all those notes should correspond with a key on the piano keyboard. you can then simply transpose each hole to a key, which wil then form chords and melodies all at the same time. you'll be able to punch all those notes into a midi generator and get music. it won't be pretty because you won't know tempo or really if you're in the correct key at first, but a little tweaking and it should become recognizable - hopefully.

if you could work with someone who had taken some written musical theory classes in college, they'd be a tremendous help in figuring out tempo and how to break the notes down on the piece as to where they fit into the grand scheme of the musical piece itself... but it's going to prolly take a good bit of photoshop, and a lot of guess work to make it perfect.

i still maintain that it's not, due to all the notes being the same length and side by side, but then again, i could be completely wrong - maybe it's louie louie.

i hope that helps.

oh, and by the way, as a funny sidenote, lol, player pianos don't blow. lol. they suck.

Even if they are the same length, midis were pretty weird lol. So it doesn't leave that option out..

Do you maybe think that they are looking at the wrong answers from some colonies who haven't got it right yet and letting htem know they might have got the first part but not actually worked out what the barcode translates to and then phoned the number?

Maybe the "have you seen everything?" isn't aimed at the colonies who have got it right already Smile.
