Jeb...and others

You're right, I was just saying that "violet" fits better in to "ultraviolet" than "blueshift", and thus I hadn't thought of blueshifting. Not saying its wrong, just that I didn't think of it...

I did find yet another connection on this, pardon the pun, wavelength.

Quote:
Artist Randal Tokei has received approval on a permit from the Office of the Council for his public performance piece in Azad Park later this summer. The new work is entitled "Construction and Destruction." The performance is expected to begin in early July and continue through mid-August of this year.

Now, according to the concept of "Two Point Source Interference", where wavelengths of light or sound (or whatever) from two different sources collide, the interference is either CONSTRUCTIVE or DESTRUCTIVE in nature.

Not sure where this is going, but it could be another connection. Perhaps the two "sources" are Earth and PC. Any thoughts?

Ooh, (OT) I want to dye my hair blue, maybe violet would be better... Maybe I should start a poll on here to find out the general concensus... (/OT). Anyway, Iain, fair enough, makes sense, I just misunderstood what was said, sorry about that (maybe some self-troutage is necessary for not reading...). Maybe a little reaching with the constructive and desturctive interference thingy, anything that you could have something as constructive you'll have the opposite described as destructive, but, worth a think anyway Smile

I agree that its a little bit of a stretch (although not as much as you imply... "constructive interference" and "destructive interference" are more scientific terms here rather that just general descriptions.)

like you said, worth a think...maybe. or maybe I'm grabbing at nothing.

Heehee, I study maths at uni and did physics to A-level, I know what constructive and destructive interference are Smile What I meant was just that in any field where you could have something described as constuctive (constructive criticism for example) you could have something described as destructive (okay, my criticism example was shitty, but meh Smile)

Another reason to stay on this "light" concept...

Quote:
Tokei's career includes winning last year's prestigious Academy Founder's Prize for Art for creating an installation in Creation Park entitled "Suncatcher." The piece includes crystals placed in a brightly painted carbon-fiber clockwork. Over the course of a year, the moving sculpture captures the light of the sun to reflect a pattern that takes exactly one year to repeat. Tokei has publicly said the sculpture contains an enigma, but nobody has yet come forward with a solution.

Yeah, 2 days before actually - full moon is the 24th. I don't think it lives up to the literal meaning of a syzygy IMO

syzygy

It IS a lunar eclipse

but I hardly think 2 days before has any significance (unless they give it some !)

Yeah, I was thinking about mentioning that re con/des interference, but it wasn't a direct connection, so I left it... It's an interesting thought, and does show that PC is absolutely obsessed with puzzles...

someone said...
If you take the first letter of each name in the logo, in alphabetical order, and reverse alphabetical order, and google that...you get ".fts" files.

I tried this but can't get anything on google?

Yeah, that was me. I just googled AGDKNTZ and ZTNKDGA...and..

uh... Shocked ...they're gone. darn. I wonder if they were temp files or something?

I'll see if I can dig through my history and find the link to said files.

Web's done, so take a time out. Get to the library and ask yourself, "What would Charlotte do?"
I think this is important somehow. Was there a particular book Charlotte liked to read that we could find? I seem to remember her saying that when she needed to think she would hang upside down, to get the blood to her head. Maybe we are all supposed to stand on our heads in libraries Wink

errr...uh. Was this meant for somewhere else?

well, glad to see I wasn't the only one that saw that google... I was starting to wonder if my law school final exams weren't driving me toward insanity!

Blue might seem an unusual name but it is a name... I've known of someone that was called it.

But still it will seem a little sad if there is somebody called blue
