Yes, the pig's name is Wilbur in Charlotte's Web. There was the movie Babe that was about a pig.

We're discussing the futures section on this thread. That link takes you to the page where this issues futures come up.

Maybe we should ask Scarlett for info. Unlikely I know, seeing as how she hasn't helped us much/her blog is just 'for fun', but it's worth a try.

Speaking of which, does anyone else think it's strange she hasn't updated since last Wednesday?

Does anyone else think it's strange how she doesn't sound anything like a prospective jounarlist, especially in a world where mental agility is valued[spec]. More like a stereotypical view of a teenage girl.

Also I don't know if anyone has pointed this out but she seems to post in two day blocks.

Ok Folks, we're all cop-out artists. Lazy do-nothings who refuse to even look at our problems:

Ok. We are going to solve the Maze this week.

We have a postcard with a cancellation mark:
"2210" + Semacode + 24 digit # + Maze
The maze is irregular in shape. It is 7 hallways tall on one end and 9 hallways tall on the other. We have to figure out what this is people! No one EVER talks about htis anymore. Are we just going to lie down and take this crap? NO!

Ok team, now go out there and figure this out for me . . .

I agree, I think it will be on the internet also. What would Charlotte do? Use the web to send a message.

not only is she a journalist student, shes the daughter of one of the mental powerhouses, and more than likely, her mother was the same. i agree, theres something wrong with scarletts blog. i mean, the wording and that to be hip, by using stereotypical teenage language and intonation makes sense, but its being carried too far. but then, what is one of the first things a journalist learns? how to use words to affect people, the way you speak, the lingo you choose, ect. shes doing her job quite well.
(and just wait, we'll have a delay like scandal in the sentinel about scarlett helping the effort and getting a rediculous salary from dad out of the retreival budget)

I'm sure this is just me being paranoid Wink , but could this quote from the latest letters page:

"Overpopulation is as large a threat as is environmental negligence"

hint at a more sinister reason for perlexians' interest in Earth? Expansion? Take-over? Are we about to become slaves in a Perplex colony? Argh! Help!

(I know we've said elsewhere that they probably can't travel here, but on the other hand, the Cube managed to get to Earth).

Quote:
City Council member Kyra Anghanda has been agitating for an oversight investigation. When informed of the leaked information, she said, "At least we can be reasonably sure that Sente has been doing something with all of this time and money. I won't be satisfied, though, until we know exactly what."
If I were on City Council and looking for answers I would be saying: "I spent 14 Million Lecks because you lost the cube and now you have someone leaking information?"

Kyra Anghanda goes out of her/his way to accept this without question. I smell collusion between City Council and the Cube thief.

Just before you all book your tickets to London, can I just point out that "the London time district" doesn't necessarily mean London. All of the UK is on the same time, as is Eire, Portugal (according to the Windows clock) and probably a few other places that the 0° meridian runs through. Not that I can get anywhere unless it happens to be in my workplace and I find that fairly unlikely. Might be able to get online shortly after that though.....
