In general I think that, yes, PMs should most definitely not be players. However I've found that in some cases (particularly with more "local" ARGs), it may be necessary to pose as a non-participating player just to gather information about how much progress is being made, player reactions, etc. Players outside of this community are not so well-trained; a local PM can't just log onto unfiction and get all the [SOLVED], [SPEC], and [META] s/he wants.

Just my $0.02. Smile

guvnah'

This keeps showing up all over the place, and frankly it makes me twitch.
Ask yourself, who governs such a thing, and how?

The question states "Should pms be allowed?"

Allowed? Excuse me?

Of course they're allowed. Its their own right just as much as it is yours.
--topic lean--
With their own games on the other hand, the morals pms share clearly state that "stirrers" are bad gamemanship. One shouldn't exist on both sides of the curtain. If you find yourself subject to such a thing, I'd suggest making a choice and being strict with it, though I hope it wouldn't happen.

Wait a second, I thought PM's were playaz by default? You mean that behind this curtain of which you speak, there are no leggy blondes, baths full of champagne and mountains of cocaine? I'm telling you, ARGs won't be considered an equal of film or television until there's enough depravity and wanton behaviour in the industry. It's for the good of the genre, people!

That's what I keep telling them!

I will tell you this, from my personal experience as a PM, the only "bling bling" *I* ever got to see was the "bling" noise my computer gave me as the server got h4x0r3d by some obnoxious script kiddie trying to brute force it for the 45912'th time. Confused

Yeah, we're not so much "Ludacris", as just plain ol' ludicrous.
