/me reads back and forth and back and forth between the posts here and FINALLY....

You guys SO ROCK! Even after it was solved, I wasn't getting it....and I was just about to post an added deeper explaination, when, I looked again, and it really is clear! I was just getting too wrapped up to see that it was really all there.

ANYWHO....as for the "nine," I'm wondering if this refers back to the varried rresponses we got from the Guides...the 8 different quotes and now the 3 (?) responses of what we seek....maybe the ID images from the first mythosphere test weren't representative of ALL of the Guides.

Spec on the nine

Now we wait to learn what the 3 more items will be. Check your mail boxes! Price already said in chat he got one, so that leaves 2 more waiting to be delivered!

Hm... Doesn't seem to convincing that the guides would count on Dale to spread out nine objects. He seems not to be receiving instructions, but is sending out items as a desperate act.

Also, many people who have been receiving instructions from the guides in their e-mail will most probably never receive any item in their mail box. Would that mean that they were doomed never to find the answer to their questions (finding the way)? Or would the guides actually count on us sharing info in a forum like this?

On the other hand, Dale is curiously mysterious about the origin of the objects he is sending out. As Dale seem to be only one or two days ahead of us in relation to progress with the guides, we can assume that the nature of their contact with him is the same as ours. He wouldn't have gotten the objects from the guides. And from Wes? Wes, who also provides us with advanced hints on how solving the puzzles? He is a key player, but unfortunately also shut as a clam...

Where do we go from here? God, this is so much fun!!!

Ok, not just nine

Um... I was wrong, our spec as to nine items was off by at least three. So far we have 12 items.

As for who they are originally from, I think it is *way* too early to count any possibility out. Why not the guides? Dale said they mysteriously appeared in his house in a box addressed to Meaghan. It could have been the guides. He seemed to think that the dead eyes or someone else was trying to get them... which leads me to think of the two groups, the guides would be the senders and the dead eyes would be the ones trying to get them, but this spec is based purely on what Wes and others have reported of their behaviors.

Also, Dale was sending the items out for safe keeping, not because he wanted us to have the items. We will have to assume that whoever sent him these items wanted them used together in some way. Therefore, you cannot really take into account what the sender would have wanted re: the distribution of the items... they and Dale are independant of each other. They sent them to him and he split them up and sent them away to keep them safe.

Also, re Dale's relationship to the guides as compared to ours: He is the one who is in trouble. He is the one who really needs them. We are just helpers and tag-alongs. Smile If they are as other-worldly as they appear, they would know this and disseminate the information appropriately. Why would they (or whoever sent the items) not have sent *all* of us items? Perhaps it is because Dale is the one who is truly seeking from the heart.

Remember, the Wish only comes when you most need it, and it would not be that large of a stretch to assume that it works the same way for the guides! Also, think of it this way: if I have a problem, the people trying to help me would send me what they could to help, but would not send all the other people trying to help me the same information. Since Dale is the one with the issue, it makes sense that he is the one to receive the objects. In reality, we only exist in this story line to 'help' him solve things. Does that make sense?

Another cipher explanation

For those of us who *still* didn't get the explanation of how the cipher was decoded, I made a graphic to indicate how the letters were found. Thanks to Mopi for explaning this in chat.

The first pair of letters in the barcode are oj. I made them red in the upper right quadrant and lower left quadrant. Their positions correspond with the T in the upper left quadrant and the H in the lower right.

cipher exp.

Okay, as long as we're asking...lol.
I do understand how it was solved, but I don't understand how you would know which quadrant to take your letters from.

(i.e.) For the second letter set "EX" , you could make the rectangle from the "E" in quad1 and the "X" in quad4 ...instead of quads 2&3. Of course the letters don't make as much sense, but is that the way you figure out? By trying every possib. and playing with the letters till it makes sense?

I feel a little foolish for asking, but thought it better to know for future ref.

Then I'm a fool too, cuz I totally didn't know how they figured that out except by trial and error.

No, you always look up letter 1 and letter 2 from quadrants 2 & 3 respectively. Once you get started it goes pretty quickly.

Okay that makes sense. Now was it through doing it that it was realized that the initial letter pairs came from quads 2&3, or was there something else that indicated this was the case?

thx

Dear MaggieMae, it does make sense. You're absolutely right, and I guess I jumped to conclusions. Only on one point (quote above) would I like to disagree. I believe that the guides treat anyone who solve their puzzles equally, providing them with the same posibilities to further envolvment. If they would disseminate the information, they wouldn't have to care about us in the first place, and just count on Dale to inform anyone he deems worthy or helpful.

I guess we'll know when the guides gives us the next lead, or when we figure out what to do with the objects...
