[???] Amstel What a twisted bit of irony... This is so stupid considering the fact I just posted for advice in the PM forum, but I remembered something that happened today.
During school, at 1:46, I received a txt message. It had been sent to me through vtext.com, to my cell phone. I do not give it out, normally. The message (and I have it with me) goes like this:
'6211 then stay is the code. 30 80 50 is safe combo. Amstel is the word.'
I've been googling for a while now...does anyone have any idea what it is ?

What do you mean? They never mentioned light...sorry if I'm just incredibly stupid, though.

Number? I have a cell with text-powers, too. <_<
Type back and see if you can get more instructions. Then again, it may be for another ARG, or something completely different.

Cara,
Amstel is a beer that comes in lager or light varieties, and comes in bottle and as a draft in bars.

It's spelled "supposed to be spelled" draught.
And this might actually lead to something.

Yeah, they wouldn't JUST give out codes and safe combos if it didn't lead anywhere....
This is interesting.

That probably doesn't help much since Amstel is a river in the Netherlands

The Amstel's name is derived from Aeme stelle, old Dutch for "area abounding with water".

Interesting text, hopefully it wasn't mistakenly sent to you by any people with bad intentions in mind, or terrorists. That would suck, especially since they'd probably know which number they sent it to, then track you down. Just kidding of course. But I wonder what it could mean?

Being home on medical leave has given me some free time. So. I've been looking around, and all I really find is some neat info about two Hotels in Amsterdam, Beer, and some stuff about Uboats.
We all know about the beer already.
One of the hotels is, if I read it right, on the river. Amstel Botel. It was the word "stay" that made me start thinking hotels. "6211" could be a room number" and most hotels have safes. The "30-80-50" also got me thinking in nautical term.
The Uboat info is kinda interesting. When I pulled up the Unicode site it listed it as U6211. U6211 was, or was supposed to be, a 2 man Mini sub. The majority of the Mini subs saw duty along the coast of The Netherlands.
Thats all I have and it's probably nothing.

Can you please explain 30-80-50's signifiance to nautical term?
