BTW, which other places did you see colonies working on this? I'd like to check out there ideas and ask them to come on over too...this one is a hell of a challenge and we need more brainpower still...
Well if you think about it, colonies are in all 6 locations that the pictures were left, except for maybe the myspace location

He means of other places people are actively discussing this, right now.
Shadowspawn, I don't think there are any other places as active as unfiction and teamxbox. I went to x-scene, but they're pretty quite there, and most are new comers, asking the same questions over and over again.

I still see attempts to unite, and still I see no unification. What will it take to unify us all?

if you guys remeber back to the 2nd or so challenge it was
Quote:
Look out football, here we come . . . number one
the awnser was Houston Oilers. Fill in the blank.
The last clue we got was
Quote:
a vision ... a sinful garden
anyone else see a similarity. i think we are very close on the Xanadu, Kublhi Kahn stuff.

I think the only thing that will unite everyone is a good web-based chatroom. Know any?

But can people who are just coming back to the game (sleeping, etc.) catch up that way? I've tried a couple of the IRC chats and they were useless....
And yes, I did mean "actively discussing". Most of the original places have little to no discussions ongoing...

Well, if you have an active chatroom, then you can use the forums, or places like this: http://home.comcast.net/~jilee86/ourcolony/challenge.htm to host up to date info about the progress. It is much easier to update a page with snippets every now and then, then skimming through a 300 pages long thread.

I'm sure that I could make one. It might take a few minutes, but it could definitely be done.

Web based as in allows html? http://www.4-lane.com/
If you just mean web based for people who aren't comfortable with irc, I'd just go with http://chat.yahoo.com/.

while i agree that one place would be better than many - but wouldnt it seem more sense to put our energy in trying to solve this god damm riddle than eventually, probably, create a new forum!!!!

By web-based, I mean dummy-proof, so that any 16 years old boy/girl will find it easy enough to join in, and chat. It doesn't have to be HTML. It can be in Java, or PHP, just as long as it's easy to use, and dummy-safe.

We're overthinking this. Assuming Kubla Kahn is the right direction, each picture has served a very clear purpose.
(1) STC - Giving us the name of the poet
(2) Poppies - Confirming that we're talking about Coleridge
(3) KK - Giving us the name of the poem (kubla kahn)
(4) Beware! - Confirming that its kubla kahn we're to studying
(5) Lat/Lon coordinates - ???
(6) 4+3 - ???
We're being vectored in. The last two pieces (coordinates and 4+3) probably tell us where in the poem to look.
That's my theory. Everything else is just too random or clearly OOG
