This is a 6 picture puzzle, not 2, I doubt they matter.

Yeah, a six picture puzzle, which means that all of the pictures mean something. Taking each picture separately until you have something to work with would seem to be (IMO) a good idea. With those pictures, the barcode has been photoshopped in on one of them, possibly both. Checking it out seems to be a reasonable idea, or am I just spouting crap here. Rolling Eyes I'm just saying that we have to look at each picture closely, not view them as a group right off the bat.

Edit: and could you post a link to where they've been decoded? I've searched the forum but couldn't find it.

well somebody had mentioned that poppies reminded them of the Wizard of Oz. that had me thinking witch, especially as I had just read a blog about ghosts at the White Hart. Area 51 has aliens, right? the comic has a werewolf. has anyone else looked into this line of thought?

Me, I've been thinking urban legends

Jack the Ripper
Millenium Bug
Werewolves
Area 51
Poppy Seeds
7 dimensions

Just need a word to link them

Urban legends isn't the answer.

Tarrot Card or UFO???

I found this thread that link http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=37115 that links the "White Hart" to Tarot Cards and UFOs.

Odd, but I am beginning to think there is some link to the X-Files.

Get it, Xbox & X-files

Oh, and there was also someone at the TeamXbox forums who came with the idea that the pictures could be related to several Live! games, namely:

PGR2 (white hart pub @ edinburgh which is a track location in the game)
Area 51 (speaks for itself...not sure if it's Live! though)
Outrun 2 (contains poppy fields)
Marvel vs Streetfighter (the comic obviously)

Other ones possibly still need toe be figured out, but he suggested that it might have something to do with the mac addresses of the people whom gamem8ker has spoken to.

Along the X Files lines...

The Series Finale was called "The Truth" and it aired in 2002

Ok i strongly think that Jack the Ripper is wrong and is nothing to do with this, why ?

This pub is in Edinburgh, which as Jack the Ripper did his crimes in London could not be further away if The Gamemaker tried.

http://www.edinburgh247.com/pubreview.asp?pubID=14

Now there is a White hart in Whitechapel so if he wanted to make the 'Jack the Ripper ' link surely he would have used a picture of the right pub !

the possible Pearl Harbor solution

Coming back to my own brainstorming in relation to Pearl Harbor, the Pacific War and Project Midway (the abomb and xbox projects):

There were already a couple of suggestions that lead to july 15th (in relation to turning Area 51 around and whatnot). Wasn't Pearl Harbor on that same date? Might be completely wrong here, but I'm just verifying to see if this whole pattern of mine might actually lead to something or not.

Not if he had an agreement with the photographer or the site hosting the images.

The poppy image and the White Hart pub image are from the same source.

And White Hart is really profound in the image.

I doubt the fact that it is in Edinburgh matters, a most people playing this game are american, location is nothing to do with the poppy photo either, meaning that's probably nto a factor in this photo at all.

Has no one learned that all the onfo you need is in the photos?

I doubt july 15th or pearl harbour has anything to do with it.

I've looked at the code, and there's nothing there to convert into upper or lower case on the client side, unfortunately.

Bonusuk: I don't know if you're ignoring me on purpose or not, but could you post a link to where the barcodes were decoded. I have searched the forum and found nothing. You did say that they have already been investigated, and I would like to review the info myself.
If it's an off-forum site, then I'm not likely to be able to find it easily am I? Wink

It's on the team xbox forum somewhere in the middle of their post.

Yeah obviously. But after discovering the hints in the pics, they still need to be related to something else (and to eachother). I believe my personal suggestion about Pearl Harbor/WW2/Pacific War/Project Midway, was fully based on hints in the pics. Not saying I'm actually going into the right direction, but we need to go somewhere and be creative right? The more suggestions and possible solutions we come up with, the closer we might get to actually solving the challenge (being careful not to stray to far from the hints of course).

SPEC - letters in game screenshots

Over at Teamxbox they've noticed that one of the area 51 screenshots has an "S" conspicuously (at least to me) added to one of the screenshots. Might not we be looking for gametitles from the pictures, then letters in the screenshots from the gametitles? This seems more along the lines of previous challenges.

Also, check out the MTV teaser spot for the 5/12 MTV xbox announcement. Not in-game per se, but a good teaser ad.
