how do we know people haven't already got parcels but that inside them they say to keep it a secret and to tell no-one or your entry to X or whatever will be withdrawn?

Yeah, thats what I was thinking while I was half asleep this morning. What if the packages have the message, 'tell no-one that you have received it', or 'wait until so and so date to tell the others'.

But then again, some of us, including me, would probably post that we had received it before opening the package, just to pee the rest of you off Very Happy

I think it's just that no-ones has actually arrived yet. Allowing for friday and the weekend to sort through the results and get everything ready I would be surprised if they had been posted much before yesterday. Then factor in 2-4 days for UK delivery and I wouldn't even expect a parcel till thursday (wednesday if we're lucky)

To me it looks like that no-one in MC actually works on a saturday, so they were probably sorting the results end of friday and yesterday, and probably sent it off this morning...

So I'll wait 'till Friday...

There's, what, about fifty of us on here who were desperately reloading and checking our inboxes. I don't think there's that many lurkers, so I'd say it's a fairly safe bet that if you got your info in within the first hour or so you'll probably get a package. There's definitely not 333 posters who've said anything......

I got the e-mail from Sente, solved the puzzle and sent off my details pretty much within 10 minutes of getting the e-mail (i really have nothing to do at work). And all this before actually knowing was PPC was all about - i'm a sucker for riddles. (i signed up after seeing the e-mail in the iwantoneofthose.com catalogues and then forgot about it). Been reading up on PPC and now am borderline-obsessed.

Just thinking, if I get a package, I'm going to feel really guilty about taking some hardcore ARGer's puzzle...pleas don't be angry Very Happy

That's just how it goes. So long as you don't keep what you get to yourself (well, unless, as others have suggested, there's a message inside asking you to not tell anyone *shudder*) I don't think anyone's gonna resent you. Besides, more brains are always welcome - just ask Spankit Wink

We're all members of the PC Gamer UK forum. PCGamer UK recently wrote an article on Perplex City and other ARPs, and although I haven't read it, it's generating a lot of interest in the scene

See, I think that in order to get these parcels out, Sente's gonna have to contract somebody here on Earth to run an ARG which will ultimately culminate in the players assembling and shipping out these 333 packages...

but ipods sure would be nice.

To paraphrase Trinity: "Because we have been down there, Salkunh. We know that road. We know exactly where it ends. And I know that's not where we want to be."

To put it more plainly: We work together using the unforum. We trust each other to share information ... it's what makes the goals we achieve here possible. I'm guessing that Sente selected Adrian and the other folks at MC to act as his agents here on Earth because of their experience with collective, cooperative communities that solve puzzles. I have a hard time imagining that Sente would design, or MC would implement, a scheme to find the cube that didn't explicitly rely on us working together and sharing information freely.
