Also, if the parcel does contain puzzle pieces as was originally speculated in this thread, how do we go about deciding who to send the pieces to in order to have them assembled? I know it sounds like I'm really jumping ahead, but I can imagine there being a lot of debate over who gets the pieces. Lot of time wasted before anything gets done.

i know what y our saying, i'm sure for many people, it would be hard to part with their pieces because, hey, its your own little piece of ppc. now that i think about it, that might be a bad idea, giving people pieces and then forcing them to give them up. just look at how the email riddle played out, no one gave away the answer right away because they wanted to get a parcel themselves.

again, this is all wild spec right now as we don't actually know what we're getting, but lets work on the theory that everyone did get a piece of a picture puzzle. So I don't see why anyone has to part with their piece? would it not be far easier if all the players simply scanned (or photographed if no access to a scanner) their piece of the puzzle and uploaded it somewhere?

I'm sure some clever bod could then write some flash or an applet or something that would allow everyone to have a go at putting all the pieces together - it'd be like an online jigsaw that we can all play together!

anyway, gotta go - Dr Who! Very Happy

Actually, I graduated a couple of years ago in English, now work for a publishing company downtown. we should compare parcels when they arrive (if we both get them..)

I'm thinking if they aren't a key to the newspaper, they'll probably not be all different - then we'd need everyone who got the parcel to really be participating in this. Along the "small token of our appreciation" lines, I'm thinking, oh, Guide to Perplex City brochure, or promotional toy, or map, or something.

no, the question was fine. I doubt that the puzzle will be an ACTUAL puzzle that must be reassembled, though.

Possibly; it said London for me but that's not quite right. Can a site pick up your location from the interweb node you're on? Though I'm on Kent-MAN, which is literally based down the road at the university of Kent. So that doesn't explain why it said what it said really either.

you're on the Kent network? Me too Very Happy. It got the City right for me, though.

er.. first post btw. I've been loosely following Perplex-City it since I got a firebox catalogue a couple of months ago, if I'm in the 333 it'll be a good oppurtunity to be involved somehow, I guess...

Zogger, I really wouldn't worry about getting a package or not. In a ll honesty there hasn't been much to be involved IN since the pregame wrapped. Unless you count vehemently belieing that there is some super secret code hidden in the futures.

Whether or not arrival the package will actually start the meat of the game, who knows? If it does, it'll all be picced, described, and disected into notjongness here on the boards, hopefully opening up a delightfull jack-in-the-box of clues to the location of that oh-so-elusive cube.

What few people seem to have gotten is that the Sentinel was NOT as claimed, the begining of the real perlex city game. It's background info. Sente has said himself that he dosn't know where the cube is (why would he need us if he did) what Sente's crew has been doing is setting things up for us to launch our own investigation. He said in the email that HIS part was coming to an end. Theoretically that means that our part is set to begin.

Finally.

.....lordy how can you not love this girl. anyone checked out her avatar? anyone heard her mention it every minute in chat? hehe... no she's telling you not to worry..
but shes sitting by her mailbox right now, and so am i. Laughing

the packages will be neat. but i doubt that they will be vital to play the game. within 1 hour of the first package being received it will be posted on the forums, and within 2 hours of that it will be analysed completely. then re-analysed over and over until the next update comes Wink

so whilst getting one will be a fun-good-time experience. your role in this game will not hinge on it.

or it might Razz who's to say for sure.

*firefox hopes for girls of the academy calendar

edit: ohh and i doubt that there will be 333 unique parcels... sente wouldnt do that to our beloved forum.. pls tell me he wouldnt.

Firefox, just because I'M rabbidly stalking my mailbox for any sort of packedge dosn't mean it's healthy, or even nessesary. I realize I will either recieve a packege or not, and I can't do anything to change it. That being said, I tend to become obsessive at the drop of a hat, sicne there's nothing else going on right now, the parcle gets the full brunt of my attention. Give me a puzzle to solve and I'll sink my teeth into that instead.

Once again I would like to stress that while I HOPE that the arrival of the parcles will signal the game's real beggining, I have little hope that it actually will. Much more likely is it will be entertaining, but useless clothing, or a postcard, or something like that. If this is the case, then Zogger still shouldn't worry, if he REALLY wants whatever it is, I'm sure someone will be selling theirs on ebay. I'll probably bid on it.

I can't see Sente's team going to all the trouble required to organise this, just to award some of his team with novelty pens or whatever. I'm sure it will be useful in the search, otherwise what's the point?

Exactly.

Much as I'd like a parcle, the sun will still shine, and I'll still play the game, if I don't get one.

As to wht Sente would send useless memorobillia? 'To reward us for our pacients' obviously. Wink

That was my general point - It would be nice to get a package, but I can't imagine anyone would make an ARG that required you to have a certain very limited edition item to even be involved.

The game began on 15th Feb 05 ..

It also serves a rather nice marketing purpose; if there's plenty of memorabilia once the cube's been found, there'll be more interest...especially when i start wearing my lovely Sente boxer (cube-r shorts?) and people take notice in the gym. Just to let you know MC, i'm 36" waist (but tall, so I don't look bulky...although this data may be out of date). Smile
