Where do you guys get these theories from based on this video? And people wonder how insane conspiracy theories start around the world, I think we are a good example of it sometimes...

Anyways, I think this is the vid of Jay being "gone" which is exactly what I wanted to see from the burned tapes. I'm happy about that.

I also like the fact that Jay seems to be implying that there going to start to try and make sense of season 1 now, with the whole "what else don't I remember" thing we saw at the end.

Well, for starters, I've been watching Bioshock Infinite on YouTube recently. Also, it would explain the several missing pieces of information I listed in the Rage Thread. Also why we keep seeing Alex attack these people, yet they're still derping around, when they're supposed to be "gone."

This entry might support the theory that Alex is being controlled by the Operator, because why does he sound so nonchalant when he's attacking Jay? And if the Operator can not only erase people's memories, but actually change them, maybe we will see more events that happened differently.

A couple of points I've seen discussed to add on to:

* Alex lived in a wooded area from what I remember. Maybe he just dragged Jay back there and left him for TO, went home, moved out and left.

* Although it's probably unlikely, maybe Jay forgot everything after taking the tapes because Alex hit him in the head?

* Perhaps Alex gave the tapes to Jay for him to watch, which would lead TO to him and leave Alex alone? Then he decided it was a bad idea but couldn't ask for the tapes back now that Jay had them in the car? I dunno

* I was distracted by the fact that this was obviously the room and door Troy Moves Out was shot at. I had a feeling the spoilery screenshot looked like that same house.

* I just remembered the shots of Alex looking out the window. Was he watching out for TO or Jay? Or both, so he could try to leave Jay with TO so TO wouldn't follow him when he left? Could explain the attack

* I remember someone saying that Alex's roommate was retconned in, but maybe he just made that up? It would be an easy excuse for Alex to leave, and judging from Jay's lack of activity in the movie shoot, he probably wasn't very up to par on Alex's living conditions

Also, the theory above about The Operator actually changing events that happened through time is really interesting. Just falling back on Jay being unreliable seems a bit too easy after the big deal he made out it at the end text, but that's just me.

I haven't seen anyone talking much yet about the shadow that attacks Jay... personally, this is the stuff of nightmares.

4:22 shows Jay struggling beneath... whatever the hell that thing is -- TO in an alternate form? some other monster? I dunno. It seems to have him pinned, but perspective-wise, this seems like a very flat (maybe even 2-D) object.

But by 4:23, the thing seems to have picked up some substance (it can be difficult to see in the still shot. I recommend watching it move; it seems to me like it's picking up mass rapidly in that second or so). I spent a while going over this section, repeatedly, just transfixed. It skeeved me the hell out to the point of nausea, put me in mind of Eliot's The Hollow Men (excerpts below, full poem at this link if you're interested):

And then, in the midst of this inconceivable horror, we pan ever so slightly to the right at 4:24, to see... the shadow of Alex and his camera, capturing the whole thing for posterity.

But why? Why would TO, or whatever the hell that thing is, care that a record be made? Hell, wasn't the speculation previously that TO did NOT want to be filmed?

Kind of looks like the shadow from an umbrella... After watching again it seems like Jay is just writhing in pain and then Alex walks up to knock him over by kicking him or something.

A lot of stuff was creepy. Felt it went without saying.

I assumed it was The Operator's shadow, in part because I have to use 240 or less quality to get anything to fucking WORK on YouTube, but that last screenshot makes it look like a street sign. You know, one of those ones that has several signs on top of each other.

It's most likely that Alex burned the Entry #71 tape because the camera was still recording the tapes exchange and Alex didn't want to stop recording for ANY reason until he finally left for Rosswood Town.

Seriously, it's not that hard to figure out. He burned the tapes he didn't give Jay and the Entry #71 tape was just an extra one he got rid of if he was going to try and leave the entire clusterfuck that was the student film Marble Hornets behind.

You know, maybe it's entirely possible that TO causes no memory issues, but Alex just keeps attacking people and causing head injuries that induce retrograde amnesia. And in Tim's case, possible an alternate personality due to brain damage. I wonder how so many people got so close to Alex without realizing what a violent person he could be...

I have to go to work but 3 things:

1) so they aren't the "Amy Tapes".... Which I didn't think they would be. Wild speculation zzz

2) Did anyone else think the place he left Jay looked A LOT like where Tim found Bruce in "the Operator domain" (theorized to maybe be the Ark) in 65?

3) This Entry TOTALLY reinforces what I was saying to you guys in the entry 70 thread about focusing WAY too much on trust and WAY too little on memory loss and manipulation! It's not that Jay is unreliable and thus lying, it's that he's unreliable because of the OBVIOUS theme of memory loss used constantly in the series.

I have other things to discuss but I have to get to work! Sorry for typos, if any are here.
