It's like asking people what super power they want then ruining the game by pointing out the potential flaws in people's choices. "Use your imagination to create this fantasy scenario, just, ya know, keep it within reason, think practically."

Well, I don't know if I'm the only one at fault here. I gave a very brief response to your answer, to which you replied with a justification for calling the police. So I think that you're as complicit in this (apparently to you) offensive discussion as I am.

Not offensive, lame.

If I may add to my post above, you're making it sounds like your reply was just intended as a light-hearted fantasy, but by arguing your case in subsequent posts for why Jay should call the police, I don't think that's quite true.
And if you think it's lame, why are you taking part in it?

It was kind of a snotty response. :/ I mean, yeah, you brought up a legitimate point -- how likely is someone with Jay's story to be believed by police? -- but it might have been done in a way that was less likely to provoke a defensive response. Just sayin'.

I don't really see the issue. On the one hand, the point about getting competent investigators on this shit is a good one. On the other hand, so is the point that the case has probably already been closed for some godforsaken reason & The Operator goddamn teleports. Whether you consider it lame or a new dimension to the thread is really a matter of personal taste.
That said, I have 2 words: FUCKING GOOGLE. To the best of my knowledge, Jay has still never done a search on this "Operator" thing. If that fails, well, I'm basically fucked. Unless I know some kind of a weakness, this scenario is always going to end with The Operator fucking me over.

For those saying that Jay's story is hard to believe... well, obviously yes buuut I want to remind you about some Youtube Channel called Marble Hornets and several tapes containing incriminatory stuff. Maybe they won't believe the Operator's part, but Alex attacks and the murderer of Bruce... well, I think they are evidence of,at least, that Alex needs to be found and watched.
Anyway, if I were Jay, I would have called the police when things started to go wrong: "Someone (Masky) has broken into my house while I was sleeping and I've recorded it and someone (TTA) is sending me wierd and intimidatory videos" etc. I wouldn't have gone to an abandoned creepy house alone and I could have even gone back with my family or tried to be surrounded by people as much as I can. If I am afraid I don't like to be alone.
We cannot know if any of these things could have worked and how could have changed the story, but being realistic, these are the things I would have done in his situation.

I think I'd try and locate the friends/family of Jessica, Amy and missing members of the MH crew. Failing that, I'd ask to meet with Hoody/TTA in person and possibly agree to help them to their goal if they explained everything.

Yus, Oceania, you didn't call it Australasia. New Zealand is the best!

With regards to calling the police and missing persons reports, I think we actually have been given something to suggest that wouldn't work: Jay looking into the bearded stranger of Entry 49 and finding no records whatsoever.
Yes, it's more than possible that there are logical reasons why Jay couldn't find anything. But at the same time, I think this detail was included in the story to maybe imply other characters' disappearances may have been covered up as well.

Yes, but you know it now and after Jay tried. There is no way you can know if something works if you don try it.
