I think it'll take more than a musical ear to work your way around this one.

I don't have any sort of software to take care of this one.

I gave this a shot, with mapping the sounds (in the two distinct sections) onto the 26 end sounds, then going with 26 = alphabet. I got
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
lmvozhgz mrhhllmol. That second word can't really be any word at all, can it? The first can be substitution-ciphered into "audience", so I was all encouraged, but then nope.

Anyone else have better luck? Some of the last word was a bit iffy. Also, I'm largely tone-deaf, but I used a cool free program called "Audacity."

[edit] I only did the left channel.

gsxmsvvtlt
lmvozlgz
xghlhkf
mrhhllmol
lhvguezmvvmw

Can't see anything in there.. maybe this is just a wrong approach and we're supposed to look for something else?

The notes are just the white keys on a keyboard, played downwards in thirds starting on D (the key in between the two black keys), then a few in succession, then again in thirds. The note names are:

D B G E C A F D B A G F E D C A F D B G E C A F D B

Probably nothing. Especially since there's also some piano gibberish towards the end of the song just before the 26 notes as well.

Yay, musician guy! Please help?
I don't suppose there's anything to the whispering sounds? I'm sadly out of time to play with this, at least for the next few days.

Yeah, seeing the thread slide down the page has been making me sad. Can I second the motion for at least a sticky? I've got some of that blue sticky goo stuff (what was that called, anyway? Fun-tack? Does anyone use that anymore?...yeah, I, ah, don't actually have any of that. Just fond memories from elementary school), and some duct tape, if that helps.

Ok, I decided to do this instead of the studying thing. Three cheers for procrastination!!! Or something.

I've been listening to the whispers, trying to make them out. Some are clear, others not so much. I hear these (spoilered so it doesn't influence anyone who wants to hear it on their own first, because these things are sooo open to the power of suggestion):
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Starting with the left channel:
A very clear (and vaguely sinister) "dolphins." This one keeps cracking me up. Dollllffffffinnnnnssssss. Buuuuyyyyyy mmmyyyyy proooooddddduuuuccccttttssss... Mr. Green
After the first random note interlude (henceforth known as RNI, because acronyms are cool), I hear something like "slowly." What I actually hear is "slowlin," but that's sort of not a word.
RNI #2, then, um, "sootee"? Very echo-y. That's followed by "Wongmo" and the descending notes.

Right channel:
RNI #1, then..."lay-os." ? [edit] Waves? [/edit]
RNI #2, then I think it says "floating."
RNI #3, then "Wongmo" (or, more accurately, "Wongmomomo"), followed by the descending notes (which I just noticed don't look the same in both channels. How did I not notice that before? Are they actually the same? I ask anyone who doesn't rely on pictures for this sort of thing.).
Corrections, thoughts? I've never deconstructed a sound file before (I was scared of the Halloween phone call thread), so I'm having a lot of fun with this.

Here's the circled notes as a midi file if that helps anyone's transcriptions.

Ok, I'm posting as I'm working on this, and I think there is some corruption in the WAV > MIDI program... I'm going to go look into cleaning that up right now, but in the meantime, I've found this:

Neat. The beginning letters look like they're close to spelling something out. So the problem was that we didn't know where the word breaks were, right?

Also, wow, it sure is sticky in here! Thank you, TPTB. Mr. Green

I inserted the breaks. the (?) character is created when shifting the scale to make words come out. One note is below the scale.
