And then the first scene between the private investigator and the blonde woman. I dare you to watch that and tell me it doesn't look like the start of an amateur adult film

@ermac26 What's that image of?

I'm gonna try to watch the whole thing tonight. Is that a mistake? Honestly as long as it's better than that other Slenderman movie where the thing moved like a shark and had nose holes, I doubt I'd regret it.

Speculation based on the fact that there is a movie
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Notice that (at least as of right now) the movie is still titled "Marble Hornets". This tells me one of three things. Either:
a) The IG movie Marble Hornets hold some significance in the YouTube series and will in the OOG movie.
2) It's a working title since it's still too early in the filming process.
iii) They're trying to piggyback on the YouTube fame to get viewers for the movie.

Personally, I hope it's a)

Regardless I'm still worried about this. I think this was a bit of a hasty move by the team.

Its not a matter of haste. Marble Hornets isn't going to get THAT much more famous (its popular as it is).

Its a matter of two things:

1. First off, we all have to admit how hipster we will become when the movie comes out. There is no denying that we will feel the need to claim how we have known about marble hornets since x videos. If the movie is received just like the game, where people all of a sudden knew slenderman and go full retard (my friend tried to argue that slender came before MH) avid MH fans could go apeshit. If the film can somehow give credit to the original series so well that the viewers fully understand the complete background of the creation of Marble Hornets, us soon to be hipsters will not be that mad..

2. This is pretty basic, but if the film branches off and does not fully follow the plot (if it even follows the plot at all) then people will get pissed. I don't really fear this though because Jay has defended the integrity of the film.

When I said Hasty, I was not referring to time. I was referring to judgement. MH is a great web series and I have confidence that the guys who make it are good filmmakers. But simply hollywooding up an already great series isn't the best route IMO.

It's too early to be sure right now but I'm just worried that this might have a negative effect in MHs overall reputation is all.

I think rather than big budgetizing an idea the team has already rendered successful, they should approach the big screen with something new and fresh rather than adding Hollywood sparkles to a past and done idea (which was great nonetheless)

I understand them wanting to expand their audiences, as they should but web series have different standards than theatrical features and I'm worried that because of this, the movie will flop due to differences in quality standards, thus giving people outside the fanbase the impression that it was never a good idea to begin with, which would be sad.

As a fellow lover of filmmaking, I totally understand the group wanting to show their talents to larger audiences, but it would work substantially better if they build up slower. Going from a web series to a theatrical release is a hasty move.

It'd make a better TV series, in the same vein as "Lost".

Not sure if bad or good, but I'm kind of looking forward to this now, in the hopes that it will give a fresh start with The Operator as a legitimate menace.

You've got to remember, if the script was terrible, I don't think Trosphim would have signed the contract.
