Sorry, someone who "hates science" irritates me to no end.
Science means knowledge. I guess ignorance is bliss..

If it makes you feel any better, I don't believe in the supernatural, either.

Also, prove to me how science proves anything other than flashing numbers at me and bombarding me with inexplicable ideas... that sounds a lot like what they did during the Inquisition to anyone who didn't believe what they wanted them to believe.

If we want a physics-based explanation of the Operator, we should probably think in terms of quantum mechanics, rather than relativity, where operators abound. In QM, an operator (always a capital letter like A) changes a state (written like |> with a label inside) like so:

A|b> = |c>

If the state is a special state related to the operator (called an eigenstate), it remains unchanged (apart from a constant):

A|a> = a|a>.

All that to say, what if TO is literally an operator from QM and the Marble Hornerts characters are states? He changes them each time he "acts on" them. What if, then, TO is just looking for his eigenstate(s) (victims that remain unchanged)?

Okay, the show is made by college kids, not quantum physicists, so it's probably going to be a hokey "Indian burial ground" type of solution. If you honestly think that a few semesters of college makes you awesome at physics, you're wrong. I've been to college, all they do is push their political agendas on you and sit around playing Magic: The Gathering.

Dude, if you're just going to be like that, why are you here?

I just love the show. I don't try to analyze the crap out of it with numbers that I don't understand or don't want to understand. Honestly, I think everyone here is thinking waaaay too hard about what it all means.

I agree with the Magic the Gathering part. Not so much the push political agendas part. Most of my non-major classes have focused on teaching me how to think, not what to think. My major is accounting and we don't care about politics, we care about following the money. Then again, I may just be very lucky to get mostly good teachers. Or I should pay more attention in class than I actually do. Regardless, this discussion seems off topic in this thread anyway, since this is for discussing the entry and we seem to be discussing how we believe TO may or may not work. If people want to discuss that, fine, but they should probably do it in a thread meant for that topic.

K, well I think that's the most fun about this kind of story so if you don't want to overanalyze it stop being a jerk and let us overanalyze it if we want.

As someone else who was irritated by the statements, I have to side with Dra--the guy who posted above you. All of this is really off-topic.

College does make you awesome at physics as long as you're not a liberal arts major. However, being a *film* major probably makes you slightly more awesome at storytelling than the average bear, and I very much doubt we'll get such a silly ending. Hell, I could come up with better endings for stories at that age, and I was an engineering student.

Does anyone still play Magic: The Gathering anymore?

The dash indicates that the word was cut off.

No. Look at the name of the person who posted immediately above the guy I was quoting. Jesus.
