I however must express my sadness that the Rage Thread is gone. Not because I enjoyed what it devolved into, but because it was once a place of glory and anger.

No doubt another thread will be hijacked for similar purposes.

It is ToTheArk backwards, indeed, but I thought it sounded cool and could be also used as a name, because for me sounds kind of Egyptian or something like that. I could have confused it with a real nickname too!

And if it does, that one will get closed/split/whatever, too.

The thread was originally created because certain members of this forum insisted on getting into arguments about the quality and production value of the series. The first Rage Thread was made so that people could have an outlet for those feelings of frustration without interrupting the "code breaking" and speculation that the Entry threads are supposed to be about, as well as venting anger at the sometimes slow pace of the series itself.

That type of discussion has since died down and the thread has largely become people trying to think of new and more outrageous reasons to be angry at, well, anything. And since the most recent permutation of that entered the realm of general vulgarity... No. The line was crossed.

Okay, dude, you realize that in the long run, users are all going to get off topic and go berserk and rise up and take over another board only for the cycle to repeat endlessly, right? This is why the Internet is no better than the Soviet Union-- everyone tries to suppress everything, and when they do, they get taken over and assimilated.

The Internet, my friend, is an unnecessary evil. And I believe that the end of the net, or at least as we know it, is nigh. And that makes me happiest of all.

I would certainly not have participated in a verboten discussion had I known that the thread was only meant for the purpose described above. There was no real indication of it in the opening post, and nothing in the recent posts to lead me to believe anything other than that this was OT (though how that particular phrase gets interpreted is a bit of a mystery to me) and rage-ful. And yes, sometimes OT discussion goes OT from itself. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa

I am hoping that there is not a similar stricture on topicality in this thread -- as at the moment I am happy that I seem to have been able to head off the migraine I was having earlier -- I would hate to contribute to the closure of another thread that people were enjoying.

I am happy about the new "Nature Break" episode, because, ya know... Craig Digsby, but also because it means that
