How long did it take to check everything? Did you try every combination of letters after the N and checked if the hash matched?

Yes, I checked every combination. To run all combinations it took roughly 30 minutes on my (old) laptop. Unfortunately I know this because I started with small letters - which was not successful and restarted with capital letters.

Answer from Richard:
Quote:
Nice job 1-21-26!

Also very nice thinking to send the text encoded that way! Clearly I turned to the right person with this. Don't worry about the meaning of the text. Actually it would be good if you never mentioned it again and deleted it from your computer as well. It is just part of a little safety precaution I have developed in case of emergency. Don't worry about it!

Best Regards,
Richard

Any idea were to go from here? How could we get more information from him?

Cool AUZ. Seems that THEYCAN DIVEBUT NOTJIVE is crucial to ("save myself") Richard's Toilworn Diamond destruct-safety-net he mentioned on the previous page.

Richard himself is quite cagey. Maybe as another programmer "hubert.ackerSPLATavecirasolutions.com" can clarify its meaning/use further?

Maybe someone who has been already in contact with Mr. (H)Acker can ask him?

Just sent a message to Hubert about it. I asked Beth already, she seemed interested and said she would keep an eye out for more information on it, but didn't seem to have anything to add to it just yet.

From Beth regarding teh Dive and Jive stuff:
Quote:
Hi AUZ505,

Sorry, but I don't know how we could use that sentence. However, I got a tip about some kind of Avecira's backup system from another helpful blog reader. It might be that those words are somehow part of that system… I think we might be onto something important, but just don't quite know what it is. I'll keep you posted if I find anything!

Yours,
Beth

No idea who the other blog reader is (amandel?)

Could be me, I emailed her about this earlier. I suspect we may now have to wait until Beth turns something else up at Avecira?

Wee bit of extra info from Hubert:

Quote:

Sorry, I have no idea what those words could mean. Now that you mention it, I did hear some rumors about a backup plan of some sort. I don't know how to use it or even what does it do. However, I did hear that it takes quite an effort to run and that Richard is able to cancel the process at any time from his office. So, even if you could find it, I can't really see how you could use it without him noticing?

Emphasis mine.. that doesn't sound ideal!

Definitely not ideal 'tho great job. Will continue planting the suggestion that Richard takes a well deserved Wink break from his office even as I prepare for my RL vacation

Richard Exaltego (aka The Great Leader) in an email reply wrote:
Ahoy Amandel!

I can definitely recommend purchasing a nice yacht for such situations as you described! It's not even that expensive if you add it to your tax deduction statement. Just remember to say that you hold official company meetings there and make the other tax payers to contribute to your yachting hobby.

I wouldn't mind going for a little relaxing trip myself as I've been also under a stress lately. It's just that I'm so valuable for the company that going for a vacation at this point would be too risky. How could the workers manage without their great leader?

Trying to catch up

I've been away from this for a while but my co-worker in Helsinki was not able to get to the library and is now on vacation for a couple more weeks. I could try and get someone else there if it is still needed. What have I missed?

Hi GuestUser. What I know is that the "library card" has been retrieved and Beth Swillower then wrote:
Actually I have made progress on finding out about the person who got the card. I was able to see her email address on Richard's desk and contacted her. I got a response from her today where she told that she has been thinking of posting pictures of the card, but is hesitate because she realizes Richard would know it was her. I haven't received a reply from her yet. Hopefully I was able to convince her that my blog is the right place to put the info about the card. I even pointed out GuestUser17's twitter account and told that he might be able to help somehow since he got the first card.

New blog post from Beth...

Quote:

I happened to notice that Richard set recently this page as his browser homepage: http://stoptoilworndiamond.co.nf/cafe.html . At first I thought that he just likes to watch the picture on the page (not a big surprise there), but then I noticed the url and realized that it's one of those messages again. Anyone find anything interesting there?

Can definitely see a message in this, not sure of the best way yet to extract it, except by hand! It starts "I have dedicated my life to warn you..."

Edit - ok, I wrote a really quick program to get out all the lower case letters and that seemed to work for the most part, though I had to put back in some capital letters/punctuation and I'm not sure I've quite got it exact, though the gist is there. If anyone can do a better job go for it! It just appears to stop at the key moment though! ARGH Laughing

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

I have dedicated my life to warn you about this devastating catastrophe we have already faced and it seems that the time is running out years have already passed since I sent my first message to the past I can only hope that you have been able to overcome all the weird mutations these messages might encounter when traveling from router to router in different timezones and eventually landing in different places or times The fact that the non causal messaging exploit allows to send data only during leap seconds has forced me to communicate only in short bursts Otherwise I could have given you all the information in one message Now it has already taken years from me Now to think of it maybe I could have been more concise at some cases and squeeze more information to you during the one second transmission time but have a bad habit of rambling when write Nevertheless you have to find a way to stop the Toilworn Diamond so that people can keep enjoying hilarious LOLCat pictures without the constant fear of Toilworn Diamond recording their every step, click, like, eye movement and preference and eventually creating the vicious cycle that ended up in the LOLCat Apocalypse Destroying the Toilworn Diamond is the only way to rewrite the future for the better. The "REPLACE" feature on MS Word also does a fair job with this one:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
have dedicated my life to warn you about this devastating catastrophe we have already faced and it seems that the time is running out 34 years have already passed since sent my first message to the past can only hope that you have been able to overcome all the weird mutations these messages might encounter when traveling from router to router in different time zones and eventually landing in different places or times The fact that the non-causal messaging exploit allows to send data only during leap seconds has forced me to communicate only in short bursts therwise could have given you all the information in one message
ow it has already taken 34 years from me ow to think of it maybe could have been more concise at some cases and squeeze more information to you during the one second transmission time but have a bad habit of rambling when write
evertheless you have to find a way to stop the Toilworn iamond so that people can keep enjoying hilarious LLCat pictures without the constant fear of Toilworn iamond recording their every step click like eye movement and preference and eventually creating the vicious cycle that ended up in the LLCat Apocalypse estroying the Toilworn iamond is the only way to rewrite the future for the better! Great job, Sequoya!
I can add some numbers and punctuation to get:

I also noticed the number of letter spaces between the cleartext in the picture:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
when put next to each other, are equivalent to the first 1456 decimal place of ... PI...

also the last 3 places at the end of the picture are "MMM": "3M" ?

keep working, everyone. I got nothin' else right now.
