[TRAILHEAD] Gimble and Gyre
wabe.

A friend of mine is doing a series that has as a connection to the poem, "Jabberwock". It has recently started, and it's wonderful.

I seriously love this series. It's so amazingly creepy and such a great use of the poem to relate to fears. The newest video has one of the best

rake appearances
I've ever seen.

Great jumppin jellybeans that was good!

My only fear is that they fall into the trend of making long videos of nothing with small Slenderman/

rake
appearances without really pushing the story forward. The latest video KIND OF did it, but that was a really good payoff.

Yay for blurry, craptastic video editing that some creator's (and their friends) seem to think constitutes videos worth bragging about on teh forums here.

Hmm...well I admit I'm rather intrigued by this. I saw a blog that tried to follow this theme but, like a lot of the blogs, it got swallowed up by the black hole that is the crossover blogs.

It seems the Rake has been sucking on helium. Wink

I wonder if they'll find a vorpal blade anywhere...

Alright, I've been talking with the creator of the series, and he is actually planning to continue it over the summer!

I very much like this one too. It kind of has an ICSTG feel, but the references to through the looking glass and the jabberwock make it really creepy. Perhaps each monster in the poem will be a monster or character in the series?

I thought I would check the intro video & make some immediate observations, but I mistakenly watched the latest one, so feel free to correct any of this:

*This setup is really smart. He had it shot from the perspective of the spying character, & also didn't show off what was found, thus avoiding that "why do they automatically leap to the pathological urge to film everything" thing. Also established a fair bit of mystery without directly saying anything.
*However, this also resulted in some frustrating Freeze Frame to Find out the Plot moments, which I eventually just gave up on.
*The happy fun letters of the cryptic messages are ridiculous & impossible for me to take seriously.
*Really not feeling all of the "proxy tropes." This guy feels too generic to me.
*Admittedly probably my personal hang-up, but I find the word "Jabberwock" hard to take seriously.
*Editing is kind of amateurish, but I don't know if that should be a deal breaker, especially when you're talking about something that just started.
*Even with all of this, I was still drawn in/creeped out by what was going on.

Welp, the creator held true to his word and sorting through my Youtube subs I discovered he's posted two new vids since the old one was posted in this thread.

Just watched both...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Be careful, the second video is a doozy

I see this series going to places I can't wait to see the rest of the footage filmed over the course of 9 months.

Woah

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
That Slendy appearance fucking freaked me out so bad, I think what mostly is creepy is the head moving super fast as well as the arm extending. Also I like the way he walked to the playground and ASKED A KID. Thank god someone finally has some sense and attempts to ask a child at a playground where the shit starts. I think this will be an interesting story.

Finally got caught up and holy crap, Jacqui??? I thought Walking With Giants was totally over!

(Also, I must agree, Slendy was plain freaky in this one.)
