Just my two cents,

For a moment before RETURN appears in the title card, entry #73 turns into enTRY #73. I take that to mean 'try returning' however, depending on who that is aimed at it can mean two very different things.

I'm going to assume that the house belongs to Tim, based on the blinds and box. I'll spoiler too just in case!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If that was Alex and he was hiding in the attic waiting for Tim/Jay to come back, that would mean the message is aimed at Tim and Jay, 'Try returning to Tim's and get that tape. Watch out for Alex though'

Or, and I think that was Jay in the window, Jay and Tim have been hiding/living in the attic of Tim's, so the house looks empty etc. That would mean Jay/Tim have been holding out on us with that tape. The message is either aimed at Alex to let him know they are at the house, or it is still aimed at T/J and they have to return somewhere else. Although I don't know why hoody would help Alex.

Either way, it's all speculation, and doesn't get us anywhere, but then that's what we do best! Wink

Also the way hoody goes for the pills, that to me looks like he is after them for himself, not just stealing them so other can't take them.

I found it hilarious how Hoody traveled all that way for a measly few pills.

Haha, I felt the same exact way there. When he was perusing the medicine cabinet in the bathroom of the house and he kept coming across empty pill bottles, I thought of how funny it would be if all of the pill bottles ended up being empty and Hoody made that extremely long day-night trip, on foot, for basically no reason. Would've loved to see his reaction to such an event, though I imagine it probably would have been similar to Jay's reaction in Season 2 when he went to the return address from the "Help" video, making the long drive only to find a completely gutted, graffitied, abandoned house with no clues whatsoever. (Though, given the circumstances, this would have been a more appropriate reaction by Jay.) Laughing Somehow I feel like Jay's frustration in that entry was an ironic parallel to how we, the fans, feel when we've waited over a month for a new entry, only to be given a new entry that basically tells us nothing and fails to advance the story.

The way I saw this entry was, first of all, as a breather after the intensity of 72. Second, I saw it as possible evidence that Hoody only goes full-on cryptic when he hasn't been on his pills. Going off of this interpretation, Hoody runs out of his pills and it drives him to steal from Alex out of desperation (bringing the gun just in case), which led to the scene where we might infer Alex needs his pills maybe to avoid going full-on "HUNT JAY AND TIM, KILL PEOPLE" psycho mode. In other words, the pills drive the Operator away (which, if this does happen to be the right interpretation, might lend credence to my "the Operator represents the dirty past we want to forget/the elephant in the room" theory, as it would suggest medication is a way of temporarily fighting off relapses. This in and of itself would only strengthen the idea that Jay represents closure, as he has so far been the only character not evidently taking pills; he doesn't want to temporarily cope with the stress, he wants to find the truth and end it).

This is an excellent theory for the entire premise of Marble Hornets and, if it were to end this way, I would applaud Troy, Joseph, and Tim for bringing it to such an insightful and deep conclusion. That being said, I have to doubt that they would end it like this, but I still love the concept of The Operator being a manifestation of something from the past that all of these guys share, and that while the pills represent a temporary release from the effects of this, Jay represents the "savior" who can end the madness for good, a type of Gordon Freeman character in a way (except, let's be honest — Gordon is far more adept and badass, even though he's been making us wait longer for new content than Marble Hornets ever has Wink ).

Guys, same windows as Tim's place. The window that a person was standing in front of is not the same as Tim's bedroom, but we do see the blinds. And yes, it's the same box.

While that may well have been Tim's house in this entry, I don't think we can use the physical appearance of the house in comparison to the house seen in Entry #61 as evidence of this because I distinctly remember Troy, Joseph, and Tim stating in an OOG interview once that Tim was moving at the time, and they had to film Entry #61 the night before he was leaving that house for good. Don't have a direct link to the interview as a source, but I'm pretty sure the house we see in this new entry and the one we saw in Entry #61 are two different structures entirely, and that the guys no longer have OOG access to the house seen in Entry #61.

Hmmmm. The presence of the word "RETURN" just made me think of something, though I'm not sure I can tie all the threads together.

"Return" was the creepy as heck TTA video where Jay looks spaced out with dark eyes as The Operator shuffles towards the camera. This occurred between entries 19 and 19.5.

Entry 19 features the infamous masky-in-the-bedroom scene, but afterwards Jay mentions that his room was empty for 3 hours before he returned, and that he doesn't remember getting up. "Return" is most likely a small clip of footage from what Jay did during this time.

Entry 19.5 is Jay's analysis of the items he collected from Brian's house, including the pills which had the label torn off the container - and of course all the pills had vanished some time after Entry 18.

If the pills prevent "slender sickness", it's safe to assume Jay didn't take them, right? (well, consuming a full bottle can't do you much good) Whatever he did in those 3 hours it wasn't by his will. Dormant "masky" state? That seems to be associated with the dark eyes thing.

Anyway, until now it probably seemed like Tim would've been the only one who would steal those pills - but it could've been hoody. Removing the label so Jay couldn't figure out what they'd do? Bit of a stretch I know, it wouldn't say "Take twice a day in case of tall, faceless hellspawn apparitions". But he could have been hoarding pills for himself all this time, and as of Entry 73 they're getting low?

I don't have an idea where I'm going with this exactly, but the word "RETURN" immediately made me think of the TTA entry and its occurrence in the timeline and the relation to the pills: between Jay taking a full container of pills, and discovering it empty with no label. Just throwing stuff out there, that's what unfictioners do right? Razz

The "liar" in that frame made me think, Who's known as being a liar to Hoody? Tim is. I think that was Tim's house, and that tape was in Tim's possession, yet he didn't give it to Jay, he may have forgotten about it, or maybe it contains something Tim doesn't want us to know.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but what kind of people keep empty pill bottles stacked nicely in a row?

Nobody seems to have talked about what actually caused Hoody's mini breakdown. I'd say TO because it's usually TO that causes that, but surely he'd make more of an appearance than just giving Hoody a little going-over then vanishing.

Unless Hoody did a Tim a la #72 and just resisted it...

I won't say much, I can't say much really, but I have a feeling that the story will take a completely different turn than everybody is suspecting.

1) Jay and Tim are getting closer to finding answers. They've knocked out a lot of side evidence and narrowing things down to finding Alex and answering what I believe to be the most important question; what happened during the filming of Marble Hornets which somehow released TO?

2) Hoody's role in the story has severely diminished, he now no longer seems to be the ominous, possible threat lurking in the background. As far as his resources are concerned, he's spent. He's brought back to the point of walking the streets, almost as if he can no longer hold the game up any longer. All thoughts regarding Hoody being "vulnerable" are on the mark, but these aren't the main points to take out of Hoody's video. The video is a reveal - smoke and mirrors up. Hoody is done lurking, out in broad daylight. He doesn't even care about Alex, sneaking into (what is most likely) his apartment.

Suffice to say, we are nearing a confrontation. Everyone is predicting a "well now they break in and steal the tape then we watch the tape," but if that house is Alex's, it's higher on their priority list to actually confront Alex than steal from him. There were only so many tapes used during the filming for MH and they have to run out sometime. A great many are in possesion of Jay, many more were burned and later found by Jay, and Alex has made many attempts to destroy as many as possible, leaving only that one tape (with perhaps a few more) holding the answers that we are asking for.

A confrontation is a more likely option at this point. Everything is building up to it. The loose ends are now all being tied up, one at a time; Hoody is done, the last of Alex's hints are being cleaned up, TO's presence is strong in Jay's mind ("it's out there" Entry #72) and there is no where else for the story to go but forward.

I really like this theory.
I can see it now...:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Jay: We have to find Alex.
Tim: Are you crazy? After what he tried doing to us? What he WILL do to us?
Jay: He's the only one that can answer the questions that we seek, and we can't keep running from him.
Tim: I just hope you know what you're doing. And let's not go unarmed. *Grabs baseball bat*
Jay: I hope so too. *grabs rolling pin*

*drive to Alex's house*
*enter Alex's house*

Alex: What the hell are you two doing here?!
Jay: We're here to find out what you know!
Tim: Jay, let's get him!
*Jay and Tim beat down Alex and Tim pins him down*
Tim: Why did you do it?
Alex: What?
Tim: WHY did you attack us during the filming?! Why did you lead us to sacrifice us to tall, pale and faceless?!
Alex: Wouldn't you like to know?
Jay: I'll find the tape. Just keep him down.
Tim: Alright. Be careful.
*Jay goes to find the tape*
Tim: What's in that attic?
Alex: Nothing, why?
Tim: What are you keeping in that attic?
Alex: Nothing!
*Tim punches Alex*
Tim: Tell us!
*Alex notices Hoody in the doorway*
Alex: Behind you.
*Tim looks behind, notices Hoody*
Tim: Jay?
Jay: I got it! What did Al-*notices Hoody, charges him, knocks him down*
Jay: Who are you?! *unmasks Hoody, turns out to be *insert missing character here**
Jay: What the...
*The Operator appears in the room, everyone starts coughing and convulsing, Tim and Jay collapse, Hoody remains on the floor passed out, Alex is catatonic*
*The Operator disappears, the attic opens us*
*Amy comes down the attic, notices the 4 people in the room, and stumbles out, coughing*

Can't help but wonder why the other guy was in a mostly empty house, in the attic, with the door closed.

Also, I don't know if Hoody actually uploaded this video. It's been speculated before that totheark is like a mob boss and hoody is just one of his men

...hoody is the new tta. just like he hacked Jay's account, he hacked tim/the old tta

This just popped into my head, how crazy would it be if the theorized mob-boss TTA is TO in a non-slendy state essentially trying to fight him/itself. Like he was a survivor of that tree story Alex mentioned and the trauma caused him to turn into... That.

Pretty much a mocking theory, but I can't help but wonder... What if.

My theory is that the house is definitely Tim's, but inside is either:
A) Alex waiting for Tim and Jay in the attic, and he's checking out a noise.
B) Tim and Jay, and Jay is feeling better.

The next few days (or weeks given their pace) will tell. Also, if (B), then the pills could be Tim attempting to help Jay get better. Given the number of pills we've seen Tim take, though, it's possible that there's a resistance building up; either TO is breaking through the pills or the pills aren't as effective.

Medically (and I'm no doctor), it's clear TO affects people's brains, perhaps similarly to how he affects recording equipment. Perhaps the reason nobody talks about TO is because they don't perceive him correctly, and their brains are too busy seizing and hemorrhaging. Anti-seizure meds may help.

Or they could all be on a Vitamin C cleanse.

If you notice, it's Tim doing the body double for hoody. They had to distort the coughing because you would know it was Tim if they didn't.
