[INFO] responses to request for DVD from Dana

I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread for us not attending the 4th or 7th to post when we get replies from the e-mails sent to Dana asking for the DVD. I sent my request right after lunch (around 11PST) and have not heard anything yet. If I do, I will let folks know. Please feel free to do the same. Smile

(again, thebruce... if you do not get one, and I do, I would be honored to send it to you as I feel you deserve it more than I do... I will send ya mine if that were to happen, I just ask that you let me see it first. Smile)

If this is a free DVD that the PMs seem to want to spread around, I wonder if that means it's OK to make a copy of it to spread it around to those who can't get one? They wouldn't have an official one, but they could at least watch/listen to it. Confused

(self-serving? not at all!)

This is known as piracy and should not be discussed on these forums. Cease or Locky!

Is copying a free DVD that's being handed out really piracy? It's not like there's a profit being made on these. (I really don't know and am just asking)

Anyway, I know some people have gotten replies already. When did anybody who got one first send a request and how long for a reply? I sent mine about 45 minutes ago.

Your name is Mazian? I've think I've heard of you. Didn't the Sleeping Princess say "hey, Mazian" to you in the most adorable voice in one of the released wave files? You lucky person.

As a note, Dana's blog entry says to wait until AFTER November 4th to start sending her emails. I'm not sure if she'll respond to requests before then.

Yes, I've been lurking since shortly before the GPS coordinates were made public (or maybe just after, since I understand that happened around Aug 10th). I've only been playing since around Aug 20th, and I didn't sign on to unfiction until after meeting a bunch of Beekeepers on the 24th at the first San Francisco axon (week one).

Since then I've had a chance to talk to Melissa once and the Sleeping Princess once. And I did my best to make the most of it both times.

(Ranger D, The Adam and I also sing row-row-row your boat in rounds in one of the last 404 wavs.)

Thanks for the recognition. Please don't pirate.
Smile

I have to agree with Mazian. Just because it is free does not mean it does not have a copywright. All of the material on the DVD, be it audio, video, or data, was created by someone and is copywritten by someone. Legally it is theirs (Bungie, Microsoft, or the PMs). They have decided to share it with us Beekeepers in limited numbers. We should respect that decision. And legally, we have to respect that decision.

Arr me harties. Ye walk tha plank for piracy in these waters. Arrrr!

Twisted Evil And if you feel a need to put a parrot on your shoulder and wear an eyepatch on the electronic waters of the internet..

For all that is good and holy; Don't post about it.

lasso time... the last thing this thread is here for is to discuss piracy. I started this to discuss legitimate e-mail confirmations from dana. I have not received any confirmation. Congrads to thebruce on his (guess that means if I get a confirmation now, I can keep it. yeah! Smile)

All I've found so far is a reference in this thread indicating a few people got feedback.

And if you haven't tripped across the swag lotto thread you might want to check it out.
