Bad News! Andrew just posted this on the IU forum:

I went to the Brody's to talk to Amelia about taking a look at Marcus' notes, she was happy to show me to his study. What a shock. When she opened the door to his study it was a disaster. Torn papers were everywhere, books were all off of the shelves and piled on the floor. The window looked like it had been pried open at the lock. I don't know if the theives got what they were after, but I have to believe this is related to Marcus' disappearance. The police have already been over, I stayed while they were there. No fingerprints, the tool used on the window appears to have been a small crowbar. The police did get one indistinct footprint from outside the window, but not enough to really go on.
I did get the mysterious book back from Amelia, the one that I had given to Marcus to look at after it was left at my door. I guess he had started keeping it in their fireproof safe in their bedroom a few weeks back. Good thing, it probably would have been nearly destroyed by being carelessly thrown into a pile.
Amelia went to stay with the Fishers, just to be safe.

my email to Andrew to see if my suspicions about TVCOG were even partially correct...
Hello, my name is John Stoffel, and I have some information for you.
I have reason to believe that the Tranquil Valley Church of God has something to do with this case. I cannot give specifics yet, but I would truly appreciate your assistance.
A detective of a different kind,
John Stoffel

Well Andrew probably doesn't know anything more, or he would have told us. He wants this case solved faster than anyone I'm sure. However, I do know he has a very low opinion of Pastor Hoffman, or at least he thinks that the pastor is a nut. Aparently the Pastor likes to stir up controversy in TV.

I talked to him on AIM about my idea of the church being behind this. He said there was no concrete evidence to point to that, but it could have been individuals in the church. I expect a new character(s) soon.

[INFO] E-mail from Genevieve Anderson I hadn't seen any information on the origin of the name "Ardmur," so I sent a note to the historical society. Got this today:
Our society was named for one of its founders, Alexander Ardmur.
Genevieve Anderson
Ardmur Historical Society Secretary
A Google search for that name turns up no info.

Megan's Probably not much importance, but here's the email i sent to Megan's BnB:
Quote:
Dear Megan,
Me and my wife are comming to Tranquil Valley in a few months and
would like to know more about your B&B. Could yo plase send more
information on the rooms? Also, out of curiosity, why do you not allow
pets?
Thank you,
Matthew Hosmer
and the reply:
Quote:
Mr. Hosmer,
Each of our five rooms has a queen sized bed, a small desk, a dresser, dual
nightstands, and a large cabinet which stores a television in the top and
has drawers for additional storage below. The rooms are all uniquely
decorated and filled with special touches. Each room has it's own bathroom
with a large clawfoot tub/shower. We are happy to accomodate as many of our
guests needs as possible, including providing hair dryers, power strips for
computer users, and iron/ironing boards.
As to our no pets policy, I'm afraid we had to enact this policy after a
gentleman's dog did some significant damage to one of our bed spreads. Our
facilities just aren't condusive to bringing along animals, which would
often have to be left in the room while our guests enjoy our lovely town.
If you require anymore information please feel free to let me know.
Good evening,
Megan
I guess asking basic questions doesn't get much in reply.

another pm from Andrew:
"I don't personally have a scanner, but I can probably take it down to the police station and use one there, as this book may be a part of an ongoing investigation. I'll have to get the book out of my safety deposit box though, so I'll do it as soon as I get a chance."
Looks like we should be getting more info at the police site soon.

the church's denomination Sent an e-mail to the Church address, asking them what denomination they were (since they seem to be very conservative). Got this back:
our church is a non-denominational church. We welcome anyone in the
area to come and worship with us.

James Elmore head of Ardmur Historical Society Sent an email to Ardmur Historic Center asking if they had a program from the Regional History Day. Got the response below. Only new info seems to be that the head of the society is James Elmore.
Quote:
I'm afraid I don't. The event is pretty informally arranged. We don't have a timetable in place for it most years. There were some opening remarks by our current head, James Elmore, and following that small groups setup by our volunteers, where visitors could learn about various time periods in our history. Then the event was closed by readings of poetry from various texts in our archives. Sorry that you couldn't attend. Perhaps next year.

Strange Email I emailed the historical society about strange religons before TV. I also asked about weird texts this was my reply:
I don't recall any such references, but if there were such groups I would
imagine they wouldn't broadcast that information. There were some mentions
in a few of dark times, obscure references at best, and they varied in
times. I remember a local high school student a few years ago mentioning
those passages though, I have not read them myself. I'm sorry I cannot be of
more help.
We got to get more info about this kid!

Is the high school kid the college student who makes the webpage?

Same thought popped into my head as I was reading that too!

Or perhaps Thomas Monarque (sp?) from the church newsletter?
