I highly doubt it. What about all the clues TTA has given Jay/Tim. What about the one TTA video that says Did you see me? And it showed Hoody up against a tree? What about all the Alex hate? TO and Alex work together sort of.

While I disagree with this theory it brings up an important point about distortion. Throughout the series there has been two distinct types of distortion, the mechanical malfunctioning like tearing, audio problems and loss of quality (associated with coughing and sickness) caused by oppo's presence. It's implied that as the characters lost their memories they each began recording themselves only to find op was also able to remove almost any record of his presence on tape. This distortion (I believe) is generally accepted to be the byproduct of the fact that traces of op are barely allowed to exist - minds are wiped and cameras cannot record him without breaking.

The second kind is what we see in tta posts, with is thought of as being edited in post filming (correct me if i'm wrong) along with whatever message/code/meaningless stream of digits are also in the video. In my head it's included to increase tta's general ambiguities and menacing character.

However in #72 (and maybe #73?) we see a third kind, when images and words appear on film without being edited in post production, which implies oppo is able to 'project' these (I think it was tim's face in #72?) straight onto the camera. This is the same style as in tribe twelve, where coherent messages and images are picked up on camera or appear directly on YouTube. While it was earlier implied that talk dark and faceless simply caused cameras to malfunction, this implies he has some degree of control over them, which is kinda neat. Again, I don't think this theory is right, but I do love the idea of the tta videos being manifestations of his thoughts appearing online simply as he chooses to broadcast them, and the codes and distorted images being his only means of communication.
