So our buddy on tumbler posted something new...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It looks like luggage tags from the ship with "If Found 946 620" stamped on it.
No clue on my end.
Luggage tags usually contain contact information. My initial thought was a phone number without the las four digits missing. However, I can't find the location for a 946 area code..

That was my first thought as well Distraction.
Only thing I could find was 94 is the country code for Sri Lanka so I figure that's not it.
I'm trying to figure out if maybe it could have something with the ship. You know maybe a room or deck reference. But I can't figure out what, I'm hoping it's like half the clue and we'll get more soon.
For those keeping count we have 6 days till the first anomaly.

Sorry, didn't check UF for a while -- the glass, picture, and frame were all present but separate, stacked on top of each other. The 'what is the blackhollow project' slip of paper was between layers.

I'm leaning in this direction as well. However, like you and Distraction, my first thought was phone number. Interestingly, NYC was already on 7-digit dialing by 1940 (five digits plus the first two letters of the exchange converted to numbers); with us providing an area code, a phone number could be both period accurate and callable today.

Could the six digits 946 620 be a UK phone number? Southampton maybe?

While poking at the photo I realized I haven't played with Tumbler enough to know if maybe the file name is a code.
Does anyone know if tumbler changes the name of the file when it's uploaded? I know some places do but not sure about tumbler.

Tumblr does rename images when they are uploaded.
London was on 7-digit dialing at this time (4-digit subscriber number plus the first three letters of the exchange), but Southampton was too small.

Could it be a telegraph address? I can't seem to find a definitive answer online as to the format. It seems to me that it is likely someone traveling abroad would supply that kind of address since it was a more international way of communicating at the time.
A couple of years ago I briefly played a game that taught me that the entire UK is on a grid system. Using South Hampton and the luggage numbers as a the grid code however put the dot far from the city of South Hampton and closer to London.

Not sure about the telegraph thing. I know most telegraphs were sent to a particular business like Western Union and none of the old telegraphs I've seen show any "address" as it were.
I'm hoping we get something soon we've only have 5 days left till drop day.
Wait maybe it's something at the convention? A room number or something?

Anyone have any clue what the combo is? It's from Hart & Cornwall Steamship Co., for the RMS Galatia. "If lost find the Blackhollow Project"
