I know what they said. But many movies start production and cancel it in the process of making it. What I meant to say was I don't think it'll get a theatrical release. I just don't see there being enough hype around the series in the slightest.
I also don't see how if production started in march, why they're not getting the help of the cgi guys/film crew on their movie to help them get the operator to walk or whatever by now. It's in their best interest to finish the series strong if the movie is going to be made after it.
Although the movie may not be the absolute top at the box office, I think that if they devote enough marketing towards people who haven't heard of the mythos, it may get a healthy number of views. The people who made the Paranormal Activity movies are making this, and despite the fourth one sucking, tons of people still go to see their movies. On your point of questioning why the filmmakers haven't been helping make the MH series, you have to remember that these people aren't exactly neighbors. Trosephim are in Alabama, while the movie crew is in California. It would not make sense to fly everyone just to finish a series that doesn't have that many views to begin with. (Trosephim might not want help anyway.) Also, have you considered that they haven't made TO walk recently because he doesn't really need to in the shots he is in?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Damn, it feels good to ramble.
It's more than clear to me that he doesn't walk beacuse they don't know how to make him walk without it looking goofy. Even the times when he approached Jay/Tim (60, 64) they just moved him forward when the camera wasn't pointed on him. We haven't seen his legs move since entry 4

I still have a hard time getting people to continue watching once they hit like entry 10. People get super bored of season 1.
Yeah, it all depends on the type of person you're showing it to. I tried to get my one friend into it. He watched it on his own up to Entry #16, and then didn't watch the rest. He said he wasn't really a fan of the whole "found footage" style or something. He clearly didn't give it much of a chance though. Plus he didn't watch the totheark videos.
Then I showed it to my other friend, but I watched it with him with the DVDs. He really likes it and watches the new ones on YouTube whenever they're released.
So yeah, I guess it depends on the type of person and how you present the series to them.

When you're right you're right... Even in Entry 4, it was hard to see him moving properly because of the shakiness of the camera. I agree it'd be nice to see him move like some sort of spider thing, like in the unused Entry 37 (which had a pretty nice effect of him walking) but yeah, it's a shame that he's pretty much become a glorified scarecrow. Or ScareTim in this case.

You do realize nothing's been said about how involved Troy and co are going to be in the movie right? For all we know with what's been said all Trosephim are involved with is helping write it maybe. We don't know if Trospehim are directly involved with the production.
Also the Variety article on the movie said that Production would begin in the spring, it's not Summer in the US, so while it may not have started in March (I do admit I don't know where I got March) if that article is right then production has already started.
And as was said earlier, Paranormal Activity (the first one) was completely unknown when advertising for it started, at least Marble Hornets has the internet following behind it to get it started.

Well nothing's been said that production is finished, so I'm curious as well to where you got that production is finished already.

The script has already been written by Ian Shorr, although Joseph and Troy have read it, and said that they liked it. Anything else, though, they may have a part in.

I know this, but they haven't said just how involved they are so for all we know their involvement could be anywhere from just reading the script to starring in it.

Here you are Confirmation of post-production status and Joseph and Troy credited as writers: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2737926/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2
Looks like we'll see it next year!

If I recall correctly, both Entry #14 and #54 feature a moving Operator. #54 was done brilliantly, #14 not so much.

Return, the TTA around Entry #19, has The Operator walking right up to the camera in a hallway. That up close, his suit looks very secondhand... But his walking is perfectly effective. Probably one of the most candid shots of the Operator in the whole series.

I say we start a betting pool. I'm gonna put my money down on 17 more entries, and less than 1 year, but greater than 9 months.
I'd put money on that, if they don't put in another seven month blank period, or switch the main protagonist to Hoody, who will then clown around until we all die of old age.

Can't IMDB be edited by users or something? Not sure that's entirely reliable if it's not corroborated by another source. (Could be completely wrong, though.)
