 		I would strongly disagree with that. The early entries had very little in terms of actual plot, other than "I got these tapes where creepy shit happens, looks how creepy that creepy guy with no face is. Creepy huh?" and that creepiness has long ago worn off. The plot has developed and advanced a hell of a long way since then, giving us far too many mysteries that almost every theory we can come up with contradicts another in some way. They might be less subtle than before, more or less slapping us in the face with it and shouting LOOK, QUESTIONS AND STUFF, but I certainly don't think they've swapped mystery for creepiness, I'd say the exact opposite.

Looking at it now, it doesn't. Hoodys hut is much smaller.
