Even though I don't know anything about Fey, I wrote loooong answers why I chose azalea and the Grimm story, so they'd see I'm not totally ignorant Smile

application submitted:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Chosen flower: nightshade
Email: therealdraghkarSPLATgmail.com
Reason for this flower: Enchanter's nightshade is aligned with the planet Saturn. It is used for binding, enchantment, hexing, shapeshifting and transformation. Particularly it is a useful aid to the Law of Attraction. Use when you are working to create energy to draw like energy into your life. It is also used in spells to balance energies and forces, light/dark, male/female, etc. Also helps in work to find ones connection with all things, release our potential and find our true will. The action is very gentle and subtle. It is a wonderful thing to focus upon during meditation. I feel that this would aid in the trails in the court
Other contact methods: Twitter: @Draghkar
What are your religious/spiritual beliefs, if any?: Druidic
Summarize your current knowledge of the Fair Folk: what they are, the various types (if any) of Courts, the various races/cultural interpretations of the Fey that you subscribe to: The fair folk, divided in different courts are all ruled over by a queen. You are allowed to enter the courts freely, but are not allowed to leave until the queen rules so if you happen to consume anything within the court. they come in 2 classes, nobles and common folk. the latter are seperated in 5 castes or ascendants Diplomat entertainer warrior worker guide They are heavily influenced by traits like compassion, temperance, conviction and valor, with Grace as the rarer of the 5. There is more to tell, but this would becoming a book, feel free to query me if and when you need more information
Where did you learn this?: As a druid you get taught the tales as a bard.
Favorite Grimm tale?: the forbidden ones
Why this tale?: because they contain the more original and true stories, which come closer to the truth
Have you ever been Christened or Baptized?: Baptized
Do you have any wards against the Fey in your house that would be a detrement to your experiance in the Trials?: Yes
Any previous contact with any race of Fey?: Undines, gnomes, salamanders and sylphs
Do you agree to and understand the rules of the Guard Trials?: Yes

So when the applications are rolling in, I have been wondering where the name brennan bellman came from..
I mean, all of the known characters are flower based, even the players are asked to use flower names.. but brennan bellman is not even closely related to flowers..

You guys have any idea why he is using a "real" name, even when real names are too powerful in the court? (or at least he claims so himself)...

I have no idea about his name, but his comment about real names being too powerful could refer to "true names". I know in D&D and various books that knowing a characters "true name" could give others, who knew how to do so, power over them. Like Rumpelstiltskin for example. So that could apply in this world. For all we know it could not be his real name, or they derped.

I tweeted him asking if he has a flower to represent himself.

If Bellman is a fae, it could be he took a "human name" for twitter to "blend in".

So, I've been trying to follow along, but I've been deathly ill and things have stopped making sense. If we were part of the original invitations, do we fill out applications, too? And to whom do we send our reports on being called by flower names?

yes, even if you were pre-chosen you still have to fill out the application.

and i dont think you send a report to anyone. i think the pre-trials were just to keep us busy until they started the actual game.

I was wondering the same thing as Mehetabel Columbine. This is from twitter

Pre-trial 2: Insist on being called by your new title for 24hrs, any time this week. Record/document any notable reactions. Due on the 2nd.

So, if we have to record/document reactions (which I assumed could be e.g. screen shot), are we suppose to tweet those or what. Or why else we should document anything?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I suspect this a fairly new PM and doesn't really know yet how to handle things.

Thanks, Gladiolus.

I sent in my application, in which I fear I was a touch abrupt.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Chosen flower: Columbine
Email: mehetabelprinceSPLATyahoo.co.uk
Reason for this flower: Once bitten, twice shy. I shall not be misdirected again.
Other contact methods: @proudcockatrice on Twitter
What are your religious/spiritual beliefs, if any?: All things are possible and the truth is contextual.
Summarize your current knowledge of the Fair Folk: what they are, the various types (if any) of Courts, the various races/cultural interpretations of the Fey that you subscribe to: They are the ones who came before men, and over the course of the Church's advancement, north, through Europe, the two (or some say three) courts were driven back to another realm. Winter was pushed hardest as they kept their old ways, but Summer sided with the mortals and strove to blend in. Mortal awareness of both courts has faded dramatically, in the past two centuries. I have a clear ass-elbow distinction on a variety of faery bloodlines: redcaps, kelpie, selkie, pooka, lhiannan -- and others who are frequently grouped as fae: pixies, lepra, nixies, dwarves, and the like.
Where did you learn this?: My family passed it down, like every family once did.
Favorite Grimm tale?: The Story of a Boy Who Went Forth to Learn Fear
Why this tale?: We all assume that fear is innate, and that all things feel it and shrink from it, but the protagonist of this tale has no concept of it, and frankly behaves quite sensibly, but for his unending opining. It is a reminder that things are not always as one expects them to be, and the best reply to anything is the practical one.
Have you ever been Christened or Baptized?: Neither
Do you have any wards against the Fey in your house that would be a detrement to your experiance in the Trials?: No
Any previous contact with any race of Fey?: Once upon a time, I knew a man proclaiming himself a pooka, and his habits bore him out. Recklessness, trickery, and a habit of eating last and ruining what he couldn't swallow. He travelled away, as so many who touch this place are wont to do, but I look for him, still, when the last apples begin to turn.
Do you agree to and understand the rules of the Guard Trials?: Yes

I've done a touch more staring at the site, and I believe Pre-Trial 2 is supposed to be mailed to theguardtrialsSPLATmail.com at least if the contact page is right.

Thanks for the namecalling guys.. if you think of me that way, keep it off the boards and send me a PM and I will explain my intentions behind the line of questions.

Personally I think that he is hiding something, and I am trying to see if he will slip his tongue..

Twitter however is not the best medium for it..
