Any Toronto or close natives, was that your first thought as well? Or are we just letting the first "solve" pigeon hold us?

Just seems odd to pull out an NHL reference in a game about WWII is all

Not necessarily. Some original NHL franchises were founded as far back as the 1910s, but the "Original Six", as they are called, were only listed as that *because* of the war. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Original_Six#Background

hey! so that was a good point about the WW2 and NHL references being wierd together, so I looked up the seasons during the war. looks like 1943 was a year when the 7th team was dropped, so it's considered "the first season of the "Original Six" era of the NHL"

Also, Toronto came 3rd

Nice catch on what they meant by "the missing city" sinewave! I'm pretty sure this confirms that this is all we needed to uncover; the next location is Toronto. If we recall, at this point last week all we had to work on was figuring out that the next drop was in Sandy Hook. The "this will be simple for locals" bit probably refers to more clues upcoming having to do with the specific drop location.

Very nice catch sinewave!! That actually makes me feel a lot better about the clue and the Toronto solution. LOL

couldn't "making it 3" refer to the 3rd fragment transmission?

Spitballing a few things out there.

The Mechanic
Could mean a number of things but I point us to a 1972 Charles Bronson movie where the term means "A professional hit man" I could not find a slang military reference. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068931/combined

Because we have a hockey reference I decided to toss out there that Toronto is home to the Hockey Hall of Fame. (trivia: The NHL did not have the money for this so it was created independently from the NHL.)
BTW; I have held the Stanley cup and it is surprisingly light. The solid NFL Super Bowl trophy is almost heaver despite being much smaller. They wanted 4 people to move the cup for an event I was working and It had to be moved so many times with other work going on I ended up moving it several times by myself.
I was also informed by the Cup's escort that there secretly is not 1 Stanley cup but a total of 6 that are used for display and travel.
No wonder every winning player gets to keep it for a day or two. http://www.hhof.com/

Because we are using lighthouses in this I looked up those too.
CN tower obviously was not around in WWII.
Toronto has another that was built in the 1950's. (Assume this is out as well)
Toronto's first lighthouse the Gibraltar Point Lighthouse was built in 1809. over 200 years old and is still in a national park today. [Promising for our hunt!] http://www.toronto.ca/parks/island/lighthouse.htm

So I've asked a few questions of The Mechanic. Also we've had a change on the map, the two that have already been found are red, and Toronto is green.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

tenshiakui asked: Before you mentioned that there's always been anomalies in the past, but the device was never used. Was there a reason it was never used? And are the anomalies we're getting now some how different from the ones that happened before?

Consider the fact that the device was a failsafe. Why would it need to be used? The question is, after further pondering, were those anomalies in the past simply fragments that we ignored? Consider these few that I have marked down in my notes:

Letter sent in 1943 arrives in 2011

Postcard sent in 1943 finally arrives

Love letter sent arrives 64 years late

Long-lost letters returned to family

Sitting in a mailroom for decades, or are these "anomalies" no different than these fragments coming through now? They were only considered anomalies because I was under the impression that the device was never used. But it seems that is now confirmed false.

The separate ones are links

It could be because we got the location so quickly they just decided to go ahead and set it?

I do like the marking for the ones we've already gathered.

i like that as well. i guess it just seems weird to me to have it verified without us sending anything directly to the mechanic to let him know our guess.

It could also be his way of verifying the city unlike the photo last time.
