Something that just occurred to me. Whenever I read about a new series and go to start it, there's a crapton of videos, and I rarely end up watching more than one or two of them, if that. Instead of uploading videos on an almost daily basis at the beginning to build the series (it's always the same old crap anyway), it'd be nice if they could just make one entry about every month or so. Not only would that make it easier for people checking it out, but it'd push the creators to make each entry higher quality.

I also think people should think twice about weather or not they really want to start one. There are literally hundreds already, it's superfluous to say the least.

^I agree. I think people should only make things out of Slender Man if they are sure it will add to his lore rather than being a rehash of everything that's already been done without any surprises.

I honestly want to see a good adaptation of the original mythos in the same bleak, grainy found footage style of Marble Hornets. It would be a good way to bring the mythos back to their roots, because I actually don't think the full potential of the legend or the style has been utilized by anyone else. Plus, Slender Man really works best as that kind of ominous urban legend, and I don't think that's been appreciated as much lately as it should be.

^This^

maybe a series where slenderman actually kills people.

and the whole insanity/memory loss can be great if used sparingly, but it shouldn't be used as his primary powers.

Notice how Slenderman series will start posting video every few days or so and then slowly come to like...an episode every three months? I find that personally frustrating. And it seems that nearly every series does that.

I agree that series should post more... consistently. Once or twice a month would allow your videos to contain all of the interesting plot points and not be drawn out.

Also, I though slenderman loved children? I'd love to watch an insane child set fire to a building or something. The children angle makes slinderman that much scarier for me.

I wish there was a series where the creators filmed all of a season at a time and then released the videos on a set schedule. It would possibly lessen the immersion, but it would be cool if you could plan to hang out with some friends and catch the new episode. Also I like how in Marble Hornets that there's the secondary YouTube channel totheark, because it definitely makes for a more dynamic story when there appear to literally be multiple people posting to the web in the story's world.

I think this is mostly a nitpick; but have u guys ever browsed all the videos from a slender series and they are mostly listed as

#entrynumber or Log #number

Then they upload videos that ''No idea how they got there'' with titles like 341631372136127831.wav or nothingtoseeheere.mp3. I think it's stupid to do this since, i think 90% of the series ALLWAYS do this.

Also i know it's some sort of ''Slendy series logic'' but i allways see people that LITERALLY SAW SLENDY, and then they are like ''I have trouble sleeping i had nightmares and shit and i don't know why'' MAYBE IS THE GODDAMN TALLGUY WITH NO FACE STALKING YOU.

Really, blindness or lack of the use of logic bothers me so much. I know it's a fictional series but this isn't how a human being would react at all.

Yeah, it's like some people try to avoid bad overreactions by swinging too far the other way and totally downplaying that they've been visited by a slendermon. I get that there's a copyright grey area on whether or not you can use his name, but that's no reason to pretend your supernatural intruder doesn't exist at all when you've already showed your hand on that front.

You know something I don't get? Slender sickness. I've never understood where it comes from, or why the most popular version is cough until they bleed. Is it another case of "Marble Hornets did it, so I will too" or something I missed?

So I guess (you know, to actually answer the topic question) what I want to see is:

1) No Slender sickness.

2) If you must use it, give an explanation for it. Or at least, have the characters speculate about it on-screen. Surely that's something they'd think about quite a bit, right?

3) Or maybe 2a, a different kind of sickness. Instead of coughing up a lung, why not things like dizziness, blurred vision, and headaches? And possibly escalating to nausea and nose bleeds (I know, nose bleeds are pretty cliche in their own right, but I'd gladly take that over another round of eye-searing, era-raping 'distortion' paired with bad fake coughing fits).

Well, I'd imagine part of it is because coughing fits are easy to act. A coughing fit that doubles someone over is dramatic. A crippling headache looks a lot like fainting if they collapse. Realistic, sure, but it's a lot harder to make it look serious and not silly.

Swearing--every slender series has it constantly EXCEPT Marble Hornets.

Yeah, too many series try too hard at being realistic by using swearing, and too much of it feels contrived. Tribe Twelve has improved on this lately, but the early videos were a perfect example of too much cursing.

Wow...I got some actually intelligent responses. I was thinking someone was gonna write "F**K YOU BASTARD U HATE SWAERING 2 BAD FAG!!!!!!11" But not yet...

What started the "Swearing constantly in found footage to make it realistic trope" was? The Blair Witch Project.
