You must miss Swansea town so badly that you need to remind me that the Bombers lost last year, just to make yourself feel better.

Despite the fact that I'm desperately missing sitting in the stadium, watching Joe chase down balls in the gaps, I-I've heard that he's stationed in Santa Ana, that lucky son of a bitch.

Agh, I'm rambling. Just feeling a little homesick, is all.

Meeting with the forger went well. He's given me an authentic looking Soviet passport that, if all goes as planned, will get me out of the country. I'll be leaving my supplies here before I cross the border, and will be going over with a couple Soviet assets to make my entry look less conspicuous.

I've been practicing my Russian a bit, but I won't embarrass myself permanently by recording it. Crossing into Soviet territory tomorrow morning. If you hear from me again, it means it worked.

If not, well, it means I'm probably dead or worse. Wish me luck.


And in 1943 it was the day of Operation Vengeance. Probably unrelated.
As far as the sports game in 1942, could be something with the Yankees?

I have some blanks I can't figure out in the audio though, thanks to a lack of sports knowledge. Guessing he's referring to Joe DiMaggio going to Santa Ana and 'chasing down balls in the gaps'? Otherwise I'm not sure. At first I thought he was saying "Gerald" or "Jerry".

No clue what "Swansea town" is or the team name (bothers? lol) or whatever he says.
Anyone have an idea? Thanks, heathian, updated it!

It's 2:14AM, local time. The target location is in my sight, barely, only by the faint light of the nearly full moon. But it's here. The intelligence was right. Security is present but there's not much. Moving in.

And, I'm in. This place is nothing like it seems from the outside. Equipment, machines, everywhere. There's a separate room, let's go take a look.

Wow. This is it. ?? (??). --- ?? everywhere, scroll-books, pages. I don't know what any of it means, but this is definitely the Mathematician. There's a photo of a female on the desk.
There's a message on the back. Hard to make out in this light...
"To my beloved sister, love always and forever, Anika."

So who was Anika writing to? (Anastasie?) Think she was first mentioned on page 21... Man, I can't wait for the wiki to be more populated, because I think I missed a spot or two trying to catch up.

Was able to clean up the audio with Audacity for the first clip. Never used the program so I can barely figure out noise removal. Not sure if anyone needs it, but HERE.

If anyone else wants to have a go and figure out the missing words, that'd be great.

EDIT: So I tried again with the second clip, eh.

EDIT EDIT: Looks like the tumblr posted the new drop contents.
So we've got the aforementioned forged passport, which says that the Operative's alias is Aleksey Kovalev, and he's age 22 (!).

Newspaper clipping suggests it was the Yankees v Cardinals world series match.
Another Artist sketch and more journal entries. Having trouble with the double exposure/ghosting on the lettering right now though.

 		Swansea town - I believe the Operative is chiding the Mechanic. The Mechanic has indicated in the past that he enjoyed a wager on Swansea football. He may be referring to either the town or the FC.

Also, I believe the unknown word is Bombers... a reference to the Yankees.

 		@Heathian That fits perfectly, thanks so much! I totally missed the part with the Mechanic and his betting. And man, embarrassed to not know about a home state team, but at least now I know it o.o

(I'm just realizing I'm missing a lot of context by focusing on transcripts rather than looking at the actual visuals and documents themselves - so I'm gonna have to scope that out a lot more on the tumblr.)

 		@doublewats, Instead.of making a large edit to a post, like adding the Mathematician transcripts, it's usually best to just create a new post. That way it stays clear what info we have when.

Also you're not missing that much context, we are getting the clues piecemeal and it's our job of figuring out how they go together. We don't know if Anika and Anastasie are related since Anastasie has only been mentioned once and we know very little about Anika.

Getting back to work after my vacation meant I lost track of this around the second drop... Shocked

Anyway, I'm almost caught up again, and I want to volunteer for the drop in Copenhagen. I can go to Malmų too, if needed, it's only 30 mins away.

 		Welcome back danish! I'll add you to the list for both location, since we have no one in the area as of yet. I'm thinking it's likely that the European drops won't be till late in the game, so might not be on call for a few months (though don't hold me to that).

doublewats, no worries on the doubleposts Smile mods here don't really crack down so long as it's relevant and not spammy.
