This means one of two things

1) Jay and his camera were intercepted, and someone else (probably Tim or TTA) uploaded it. Willing to bet Tim attacked him at the end of 75 off camera

2) Jay was slendified shortly after uploading 75 and still hasn't recovered


Or he hasn't yet watched the tape?

Nah, they both had a flashlight. You can see Tim turning a flashlight on the hallway to the attic stairs at around 4:30. Jay turns his flashlight on shortly after he goes up the hallway. It's either a flashlight or the camcorder light. And I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have flashlights. I mean, it was still daytime out. But I guess they know day can suddenly turn to night. Better to be prepared when you know that shit can happen.

actually, what he meant is that jay leaves his flashlight behind when he runs away from tim at the end

Good spot! Razz I bet he's kicking himself over that, he had a pretty decent Maglite too, they're hardly cheap and come in handy doubling as a weapon, he needs that torch.

Man, at the beginning of the entry I saw the white car when they stopped at the Stop sign and mistook it for Alex's (it's definitely not the same car, though), so I spent the rest of the entry on edge, expecting them to realize that Alex is following right behind them or, at the house, for him to come running up on Jay and Tim while they're trying to be sneaky. Embarassed

Wouldn't have done any good, patient doctor confidentiality and all that (I'm 60% sure they wouldn't let you have a camera in there). Plus, at that moment in time, I doubt Jay didn't want to be caught snooping around.

Knowing Jay, he's probably got a few flashlights stored away. He doesn't stay in one place long, and he most likely has backup supplies in his car.

 		Imagine it this way. Jay goes to Rosswood Park during day time. Operator changes it to night time. Jay can't see anything cause he forgot the flashlight in the car. He's scared shitless, he trips over a branch and tracks his skull on a rock. The Operator finally shows up, something magical appears. THIS HAPPENS TO HIS FACE:

 		for the record: this entry is the closest we've gotten to Marble Pornets becoming a reality.

"Jay, what are you doing?!"

and I bet the tape will end up being a saucy sex tape of The Operator:
"It's something you need to see... but not yet"

Jay will never be prepared for what he is about to see.

No, but we do know for a fact that TO is summoned by tapes that he's in.
1. Jay didn't have any problems until he started watching them
2. Alex told Amy not to look at the tape- she did anyway and immediately TO showed up out of nowhere

This is known as "The Tulpa Effect", where simply knowing about the theoretical existence of something gives it license to manifest in our physical world. Ergo, one's own memories become the key, the weakness, and solution.


I never thought of this before, and frankly it's a REALLY awesome idea.

My question on the first appearance of The Operator remains, however! If he manifests through these things, was there perhaps an idea from Alex which spread like a virus? If so, how? When did it begin in Alex? The question still remains!

I predicted a confrontation entries back and I was right, and I am predicting the first ever encounter with The Operator to be addressed as well. No matter how esoteric or cryptic your storytelling methods are, you still must depend on these traditional plot points to base your story around.


They've gone on record to say they will not be giving the operator an origin story. The first ever encounter would be through Tim as a child, which we won't get footage of. While Tim could have been lying about his history, the medical records don't lie. If Tim was the one that gave the records to Jay i'd be hesitant to believe them, but it was hoody who provided them.

As far as first encounter with Alex, I think we can assume that one of the earlier entries (12, off screen footage of what happened before entry 2, maybe even entry 5). The thing is, the only reason Alex found out about the operator was because of his camera catching it in frame. Had that not happened, Alex would have never figured out why he was blacking out. The fact that he was losing time was probably good enough reason to start filming, but I still think the first encounter with Alex was not filmed for those reasons.


That's a real downer, this is the only question I want answered. I guess I'll stop harping on it now.

Where did they say they won't be answering his origin? I might have seen it already and completely missed it.
