I'm even beginning to wonder if TIM has shown an alter ego. How far do the lies go? Could Tim and Masky have been the same personality all along? Could all this "I don't remember" routine be just so much smoke?

It's possible, There is some evidence to support that but there is some that doesn't, Like in Entry #62, Tim in Masky state acts blind, Because he was right infront of Jay like "DOH I DUNT KNOW WHERE THE FUCK HE IS?", Maybe Tim is like a "Computer" and "Masky.EXE" is a virus program that Oppykins or Hoodyman downloaded from Proxy.com and Tim has random seizures which glitch him into Masky mode, Just A random thought... Laughing

Concerning Entry #62...I had the impression that Masky could not see Jay because Jay was using a night-vision camera, allowing Jay to see so long as he used the camera. Masky, on the other hand, lacked a light source and therefore had difficulty finding Jay when Jay was still and quiet.

Have you ever been in the woods in the middle of the night with no flashlight?

Not since I started watching Marble Hornets.

Wink

EDIT: Rewatched Entry #62. Jay turns his flashlight off at 3:21 in a deliberate effort to hide from Masky.

Well as you see in Le picture, There is a light reflection on Masky's Mask. Therefore showing that a "light" was flashing at him through the nightvision.

Mulling

If Masky had told me he'd kidnapped Alex, and I was Jay, I'd be like "thanks a lot bro"
I just want to know if Tim was trying to "mother" Jay and protect him by keeping that tape hidden, and he's been trying to make some sort of progress together, or if that was a ruse.
At this point anyway, I guess I'd still forego trying to go to that address even to just check it out, let alone go there and rescue Alex. Jay and Tim both have enough to worry about already.
The only thing is, TO always seems to show up whenever Alex needs help, so if they go so will Oppy.

It took about 5 seconds searching for images in Google to confirm that yes, you do get reflections with night vision. Which should come as no surprise: even night vision is done by shining a light on an object which reflects back to the camera. Only, it's infrared light, which is invisible to the eye.

On one hand, if he isn't blind, Masky should have had some impression that he could see some silhouette. When you spend a while in the dark with no light, your eyes can become sensitive to compensate and allowing for some degree of night vision. On top of this after spending several minutes in the dark you can usually see lighter colours in the night as they reflect any glimmer of light from other sources (eg. moon)

However, if we remember, Masky was in Brian's house and spent several seconds "staring" at Jay before trying to rush him, he had a decent window of attack, but instead waited, his face pointed at Jay as if trying to discern where he is via another sense (hearing would be the best bet but I can't shake the feeling he's sniffing for his prey like a hunting dog). A similar thing happened in the Entry where Alex broke his leg, it looks like Masky was staring at Jay for several seconds before running to attack when Alex pointed him out behind him.

And to conclude, Hi, I'm a long time lurker, hope to add some constructive points to this while I wait for Entry #76.

I think Masky waited before attacking Jay the first time because at first he had no reason to attack, then he got pissed off about being called Alex.

And welcome!

Well if you saw a guy shining a flashlight in your face in your nice dark desolate and creepy house and Masky just sat there like "The fuck?" he may have know Jay was already there cause he must've heard the rustling and he said "Boo" in Entry #18, read the transcript if you have to. and in Entry #33 when he was running after Jay, Masky was looking around but heard Jay possibly.

I have the volume up all the way when he supposedly says "boo" and I can't say I hear it at all. Just Jay exhaling.

I did read it, then I went to the point it said and didn't hear it.

The wiki isn't always correct.

I compare it to when people record things at night and say they hear words, I never hear anything coherent, I think its their ears tricking them.

I used to think this was a cool idea when I first started Season 3, but I feel like the lie would be far too elaborate for Tim to have realistically pulled it off this well. In light of this latest entry, who knows, but I feel like no one could be that convincing and not slip up for such a long time (keeping in mind Jay and Tim first allied nearly a year ago now and probably have talked a lot off camera).
