Fan made screenplay?

I thought it would be cool to make a full screenplay for Alex Kralie's Marble Hornets. When I finish I'll put it up here, but do you guys think I should try and make it good, or should I make it bad, like the original?

EDIT: and to clarify, this will hold true to the S2 DVD trailer.

From what I've heard about the trailer, the only way it'd stay true to it is to suck. That's the spirit of Alex Kralie's Marble Hornets anyway, so go for bad.

That, or I'll make it so Alex was replaced by a better screenwriter or something.

EDIT: like jay actually intended to finish MH and he revised the screenplay.

Just make it bad, but bad in a funny way. I feel like it wouldn't be right to make a "better" version- my whole interest in seeing the original film stems from how awful it seemed.

If it were me, I'd go for making it seem like it's a parody, with the point being that it wasn't supposed to be funny- make it where it's a good comedy film, but an awful serious one.

Yeah, make it unintentionally-funny bad, like The Room bad. Maybe half way through Jay could take over and the tone could completely change or the writing quality could improve? That might be amusing.

If you need any further inspiration, can I also promote *cough* this trailer:

Good luck, and keep us posted. Smile

Or Jay could take over and everything could get even worse. Actually, since Jay was apparently the "script supervisor" to begin with, I wouldn't put too much faith in his writing ability.

Or TTA could take over and it could just become a fricking LSD trip.

But really, things like the "dream" scene in the trailer, among other moments, lead me to believe that the finished thing would be what I said- horrible if viewed as a serious film like intended, hilarious if viewed as being a comedy.

Last year, UnFiction user Kimren wrote a fan script for Alex Kralie's Marble Hornets. To my knowledge, it remains unfinished to this day.

Here it is: https://docs.google.com/document/d/15gmo40GAjUs5T9YEe0A08zT6sV7eypO1Mn5s1sPPC08/edit?pli=1

Perhaps you could make some use of it.

Thanks, but don't tempt me. I want this to be original.

OK, due to school starting up I will admit I haven't started on this, but I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN! Shocked

I will write the screenplay like someone who is completely inexperienced with writing dialogue, and it will be bad. It will be The Last Airbender bad.

I will not post again until I have made some progress.

That trailer was really funny but damn now I'm tempted to do one. I'll work on that in between music pieces.

That'll be quite an achievement, if you manage to somehow match Shamalayan in terms of sheer awfulness.

"That's bullshit, I did not hit her, I did not his her... Oh hi Masky."

"You are TEARING ME APART, Alex!"

All I could think of reading this thread.

@Omberto

Alex: When I first moved here, I remember hearing a story that back in the 1800's they thought this place was blessed because everything would grow so fast. They would take their worst criminals, murderers and child molesters and they would put them on trial before God out here. They would tie them up to the trees and the idea was that they would get stretched out, kind of like a rack. They never fed or gave them water though, so they would just die of dehydration.

Jay: Hahahaha, what a shtory, Aleksh!
