Okay, I will try to get to the theatre by 6:30 since that seems to be about when everyone is showing up (I'll probably be a bit late since work might go late). For food, I'm up for whatever, although I think most of us are probably not going to want anything too expensive. I know pizza is usually a LAN party favorite so it only makes sense, and when the pizza here is good, it's really good. I've had pizza here that's as good as the best I had in Tuscany. A slice costs about $2 in manhattan (in Brooklyn it's another story since I know a place that I can get a pint and an 8" pizza for $4), so it will easily fit into the most frugal of budgets. So unless we come up with something spectacular, I think most of us will probably end up just grabbing a slice or two.

Holy shit, tommorrow = pious flea transmission, ILB DVD (and a lanyard), and Halo 2 LAN/LIVE Party (although it sounds like maybe not everyone will get to play). I think I just peed a little too. I'm glad I have this and Halo 2's release to look forward to since today is turning out to be such a shitty day.

*drool*

pizza would make an excellent side dish for beer. How many here are over 21? Maybe there will be some time before (or after) the event that the 21+ crowd could grab a beer.

(i seriously doubt this would happen, but it would be freaking awesome if i could walk in the theater with a 6-er and plop it down next to me while I'm playing halo 2. Cool. That would never happen though.)

A boy can dream can't he?

PARKING!
So can anyone give me an actual address for a place to park near the theatre?

[EDIT] I just called the theatre, and they said that there should be parking on 33rd between 1st and 2nd. I should have asked if they are still planning on showing movies tomorrow night. [/EDIT]

Here's a possible place to eat...

http://fatsals.com/

510 9th Ave Between 38th and 39th

PLus they have online coupons...

$2 off any $10 order or
$3 off any $20 order

And they have pizza by the slice... Smile

I'm searching for other pizza places, where you can buy by the slice, please anyone in the area, what is the closest location, that has good old new york style pizza, by the slice..or even if not by the slice we can chip in and split pizza .. (trying to find closest location to the combat training)

a friend in manhattan just recommended a pizza place at 33rd street and 3rd ave, I didn't get the name of it though. Does seem close to the theater.

201 E 33rd, on the corner of 33rd and 3rd, there is "Brick Oven Pi33a"

rhymeswithsausage, you're leaving south jersey at 4:30??? Confused I'm leaving my office in fairfield at 4:30 and it'll probably take me over an hour to get to the city. where in south jersey are you?

We are leaving from Mount Laurel b/c it has NJ Turnpike Exit #4. I have 2 friends along for the ride- one has been reading the boards with me since the beginning, the other just found out about stuff this week. We're all Halo junkies, so this should be a hoot.

I plan in getting into NYC around 6:30 or 7. I drive fast, and know a few different ways to avoid traffic between here and there (I used to work in Weehawken).

Badge finished.

I'm a little disappointed in the punch at the top, so i may have to try and make it bigger so it looks centered.

Very very Very sad news :-(

This freaking sucks. I am so upset! ERG I can't get a camera into the event because well ... just read Sad This really sucks!

Quote:

Filming inside the event location will NOT be permitted. It will
Compromise the security of your mission, and you will risk losing your
Equipment.

Now I have the cancel my camera rental for tomorrow and I am very upset over this. I really wanted to add this into my documentary but I guess tons of digital pictures will have to do instead but ERG! I mean I was really looking forward to documenting this and all I have done is planned out tons of questions to ask people and tons of other things to film. Sad This sucks

Oh and I got this quote from my mailbox from dana/ or the super AI Melissa princess.

... ERG!

(edited to fix spelling and grammer erros in my rush.)

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble here, cuz I'm excited as hell about tomorrow.. But good luck finding parking on the street in NYC around rush hour. Be prepared to sit in traffic for a long time and end up paying for garage parking.. And if you're just looking for a pizza place, you don't really need to research it online: Come on, guys- this is New York City pizza- There's two places on every block.

Sucks about the cameras =( I wonder what Melissa's call on Thursday is gonna be tho

See you all there tomorrow
