Site archive

I was wondering if anyone knew of a place that had an archive for the actual site as it develops. Not the site content, but the site itself, like html files with images and stuff.

IS there any place where I can find this?

Many can be found on the on-site "fragmented memory" archived pages. Click on the dancing bee on most pages to find previous versions.

Is there a mirror of the undamaged site pre-Melissa? I remember reading that Dana provided one once, but I couldn't find the link to it. Maybe the entire site will revert to its original "normal" form in the near future, but I'd like to take a look now at a mirror if there is one.

No mirror that I know of, but Dana did post pictures of the site pre-AI on her blogger right here.

Thanks for the link.

Two things make me sad:

1. Dana uses Internet Explorer.

2. Dana saves screen shots of webpages as JPEGs.

I was wondering, is there any program that can be used to save all the site's content onto my computer? Pages and all? I would really like to just have a personal archive of everything in case the server goes down eventually.

WinHTTrack is a good one, one I use... very configurable and effective...

I prefer wget. It's command-line. It's very powerful and configurable, but all it takes to download an entire site is this:

wget -m http://ilovebees.com/

wget is also good for downloading individual large files. I use it instead of download managers like Getright. It's what I used to download all the clips on Sunday, because downloading via a web browser is annoying.

It's a native Unix program, but there's a very good Windows port available. I use it on Windows with no problem.

One thing to note is all the pages are built in ASP.NET, and are scripted. Although you can backup the output of the scripts, you won't have the dynamic content.
