You got punk'd by a spammer. Leave an innocuous post then come back a few days later to insert the spam. Pixie edited it out but because you all responded to it, spam patrol couldn't remove it.

 		Um well he posted in a thread that already existed, so of course people responded...? Might be different if he had posted a new thread but I dunno how you can be pissy at people for responding to someone posting something goofy in an already existing thread. Should no one ever respond to Tharol-style posts? Rolling Eyes

There are ways, but that would make it more difficult for legitimate members to be posting; and new folks would not feel very welcome for a few days after registration.

So the spam patrol does what we can to remove the crap as soon as we can, most of the time <12 hrs after posting. I just got 12 pieces from two new accounts. This morning I cleaned up about 5. Pixie got a few this afternoon. Admins feel that you guys are smart cookies and should recognize spammers. It's not that you cannot continue to discuss the topic in the thread, but just don't RESPOND to the spammer.

But to be fair, a post that hilariously bizarre is hard to resist making a snarky remark about.

And speaking of spammers, another troll thread just blew in.
