Aloha, I have a lot of voicemails, and I will try to answer them all soon. I am trying to travel to a safe place so I can exchange more information and relax a little. I have been on the run, you can say, and it's difficult to find a data terminal to update this message. I was expecting them to try to hack into my account which is why I have three tickets, they will not know exactly where I'll be. Aloha

Hey guys,

it's been a while. I talked to L0jik in IRC; I've been working on figuring out the robot step song. I've got a theory, and so far i've got two strings of 10 digits each, which correspond to the first two measures of the song. Due to the fact that robot step is a "song" of sorts, the digits can be transcribed as letters (each note corresponds to a letter A - G) or a number (assigning a numerical value to each note: A=1, B=2, and so on up to G=7). I've still got some stuff to work out; such as how to go about transcribing sharp/flat notes, as well as the importance of how many time each progression is repeated.

I'm open to any and all suggestions. Take a listen. robot step song

Embarassed since we (and some torlls) used all our credit on out Cleveland calling card for system 412 888 (class 6 numbers from video), we are not able to check map or any other class 6 numbers anymore

so we are basically waiting for new card to be issued and send to oune of us or picked up as a new drop

[18:56] arthurdent11389 hola
[18:57] L0j1k hi
[18:58] arthurdent11389 if someone is looking for an otp22 project, may i propose one to get access to "vaughnsville map"
[18:58] arthurdent11389 hi L0j1k
[18:58] L0j1k you can do whatever you want
[18:58] L0j1k you don't need permission
[18:58] L0j1k
[19:00] arthurdent11389 well, based on the recording of calling the Cleveland direct number, when the CD system calls the 419 number for the ship coordinates, it send a sequence of tones when the 419 number initially answers with "this number is invalid", or something like that
[19:00] L0j1k yes
[19:00] L0j1k and that changes depending on the caller ID
[19:01] arthurdent11389 so i tried to call the 419 number directly and play back the tines that i recorded from previous call, but it didn't work.
[19:01] L0j1k there might also be a data burst in there, but i wasn't ever able to be certain
[19:01] L0j1k interesting, that's a good idea
[19:01] L0j1k did you try them on any other number?
[19:01] arthurdent11389 either my recording was bad, or the frequencies weren't recorded or played back properly.
[19:01] L0j1k are you sure it would work in the first place?
[19:02] arthurdent11389 here's a recording from sep 21, 2013: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1FloGUEgCvU
[19:02] arthurdent11389 no, i don't know for sure it will work - but in theory it should...
[19:05] arthurdent11389 if someone with more expertise than I (anyone) could analyze the tones and recreate them for playback to the 419 number, then i believe we could get that "map system" back.
[19:06] arthurdent11389 here's another recording on Sep 22, 2013 (for comparison to prior one): http://vocaroo.com/i/s019RdbBLomB
[19:07] L0j1k that's a very nice idea
[19:07] L0j1k are there major differences in teh two?
[19:08] arthurdent11389 and here's one from Sep 23, 2013: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1ssiTVwecU5
[19:08] arthurdent11389 no, i couldn't identify any differences when i used audacity
[19:09] arthurdent11389 sorry i don't have the knowledge or resources to do more with it myself, but i'm sure someone can have fun with it and maybe SUCCESS !

Agent code 6880#:
http://dialer.otp22.com/2013-10-16%2011-36%20UTC%20-%20202-999-3335%20-%206880%23.wav

"For whom the bell tolls, inscribed on the bell. A code, a bell code. Not paper flapping in the wind."

Question

Quote:
[15:24] morningcoffee also do you know when/where 6880# is from?
[15:24] lurker69 no idea whats on it?
[15:25] morningcoffee 6879# was the coconut drop - http://otp22.referata.com/wiki/Agent_Systems/6879
[15:25] morningcoffee but I couldn't find reference to 6880# anywhere
[15:25] morningcoffee it's a weird message about a bell, hang on
[15:25] lurker69 oh yeat otp7 otp8 and otp9 or how we called htem
[15:25] morningcoffee "For whom the bell tolls, inscribed on the bell. A code, a bell code. Not paper flapping in the wind."
[15:26] morningcoffee I know there was the bell agent code before, and I also remembered someone collecting a drop and there was a big bell there that he looked inside
[15:26] morningcoffee but those were AGES ago
[15:28] morningcoffee http://otp22.referata.com/wiki/Timeline_of_events <-- search for bell, you can see the picture of the big bell from the drop that led to 7097000122, a year ago
[15:29] lurker69 that was drop no3
[15:29] lurker69 at some cemetery
[15:29] morningcoffee it was a piece of paper though at that drop
[15:29] lurker69 we foud a paper in the field taht was blown fom ots origina location by th wind
[15:29] morningcoffee "a single blue laminated index card"
[15:29] morningcoffee not "inscribed on the bell"
[15:29] lurker69 and on the paper was polish phone number
[15:30] morningcoffee so you think 6880 is from that drop and it's been around for ages? I couldn't find any reference to the number from before
[15:30] morningcoffee it seems to fit that, definitely... otherwise PM is just obsessed with bells lol
[15:31] morningcoffee it just seemed weird that it came after 6879 which was for a later drop
[15:33] lurker69 yeah it is strange
[15:33] lurker69 it might also men we have to visit that drop again
[15:33] lurker69 interesting is that 3rd drop was exactly in the middle of 1st and 2nd drop
[15:35] lurker69 (45.4240 + 44.4124) /2 = 44.9182
[15:35] lurker69 (-122.6675 + -68.5897) /2 = -95.6286
[15:35] lurker69 http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=967913#967913
[15:35] morningcoffee oh, yeah
[15:35] morningcoffee I remember seeing that before
[15:36] lurker69 http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=968119#968119
[15:36] morningcoffee "It wasn't exactly where the coords were so the wind probably blew it around a little"
[15:36] morningcoffee and "not paper flapping in the wind"
[15:36] morningcoffee seem kind of related lol
[15:37] lurker69 yeah thtas why i connected it immediately
[15:37] morningcoffee so weird lol
[15:37] morningcoffee maybe there is a bell at the new drop location??
[15:38] lurker69 or we have to visit that black lake again and sheck whats written on the bell
[15:38] morningcoffee maybe
[15:38] morningcoffee I guess we'll see what's at the new drop site?
[15:38] morningcoffee and then if there's no bell or anything, we can think about it more
[15:38] lurker69 maybe there is foto of the bell on internet somewhee, that place was quite remote

If someone has time maybe we should check logs around date when we ewre calling and discovering Hawaii drops on agent numbers 6877# 6878# 6879#. It would be nice to know if that message is new or is it on agent system from last year.

I found tihis on dialer:

Location: SoCal, the land of stepford zombie robots.

Hey guys, sorry for the slow update but I've been a little busy with work.

Anyway, I've finished analyzing the robot step song using the (probably incorrect) theory that the notes are numbers, or possibly a 5 gram message. Using this theory, I determined the notes played in each measure of the song, and then assigned a number to each note. I did this using an electronically tuned guitar, playing along with the song on my computer. Since the song is fairly simple (a progression of single notes) I was easily able to transcribe it. Since (technically) music only uses notes A - G, once I determined what notes were being played I assigned a number to each note - where A = 1, B = 2, and so on up to G = 7. In the case of sharp and flat notes, it got a little tricky because sharps and flats fall "between" notes. For example the note between A and B can = A sharp (denoted as #) or B flat (denoted as b). In this case, I would translate that portion of the song once using the sharp notes and once using the flat notes.

Each measure of the song consists of a six note bass line and a four note treble line, each playing at the same time, except for the last measure, which is only a bass line. For the not-so-musically inclined, the bass line is the low notes that keep the rhythm, and the treble line is the high beepy notes. If this theory is even correct, it was not clear whether the bass line or treble line should come first, or if they should be intermixed, since they are both playing at the same time. Thus, for each measure I do one translation putting the baseline first, then another putting the treble line first, and then intermixed.

I must give credit to L0j1k here, he came up with the idea for an intermixed permutation.

Thus, here are my findings from this analysis, measure by measure. There are five measures in total.

First Measure

Notation:
Bass line - FGFCDC
Treble line - CCDG

Numbers yield:
Bass line first - 6763433347
Treble line first - 3347676343
Intermixed bass first - 6373643743
Intermixed treble first - 3637467343

Possible 5gram yield:
Bass line first - FGFCD CCCDG
Treble line first - CCDGF GFCDC
Intermixed bass first - FCGCF DCGDC
Intermixed treble first - CFCGD FGCDC

Second Measure
This measure is tricky because it is comprised of mostly sharps and flats. This measure is 4.5 higher than the first measure (the music goes up in key). Sharp notes are denoted as #, while flat notes are denoted as b.

Notation:
Bass line sharp - C#D#C#G#A#G#
Bass line flat - DbEbDbAbBbAb
Treble line sharp - C#G#D#B
Treble line flat - DbAbEbB

Number yield:
Sharp, bass first - 3437173742
Sharp, treble first - 3742343717
Flat, bass first - 4541214142
Flat, treble first - 4142454121
Sharp, mixed, bass first - 3347347217
Sharp, mixed, treble first - 3374432717
Flat, mixed, bass first - 4451451221
Flat, mixed, treble first - 4415542121

Possible 5gram yield:
Sharp, bass first - CDCGA GCGDB
Sharp, treble first - CGDBC DCGAG
Flat, bass first - DEDAB ADAEB
Flat, treble first - DAEBD EDABA
Sharp, mixed, bass first - CCDGC DGBAG
Sharp, mixed, treble first - CCGDD CBGAG
Flat, mixed, bass first - DDEAD EABBA
Flat, mixed, treble first - DDAEE DBABA

Third Measure

The third measure is one-half step up from the second measure. The interesting thing about this measure is that the note names, and therefore numbers, are identical to the flat version of the second measure.

Notation:
Bass line - DEDABA
Treble line - DAEB

Number yield:
Bass line first - 4541214152
Treble line first - 4152454121
Mixed, bass first - 4451451221
Mixed, treble first - 4415542121

Possible 5gram yield:
Bass first - DEDAB ADAEB
Treble first - DAEBD EDABA
Mixed, bass first - DDEAD EABBA
Mixed, treble first - DDAEE DBABA

Fourth Measure

The fourth measure is a full step down from the third measure. This is interesting because it matches up with the sharp letters/numbers from the second measure, with the exception of the very last note of the treble line, which is Bb.

Notation:
Bass line - CDCGAG
Treble line - CGDA#/Bb

Number yield:
Sharp, bass first - 3437173741
Sharp, treble first - 3741343717
Flat, bass first - 3437173742
Flat, treble first - 3742343717
Mixed, sharp, bass first - 3347347117
Mixed, sharp, treble first - 3374431717
Mixed, flat, bass first - 3347347217
Mixed, flat, treble first - 3374432717

Possible 5 gram yields:

Sharp, bass first - CDCGA GCGDA
Sharp, treble first - CGDAC DCGAG
Flat, bass first - CDCGA GCGDB
Mixed, sharp, bass first - CCDGC DGAAG
Mixed, sharp, treble first - CCGDD CAGAG
Mixed, flat, bass first - CCDGC DGBAG
Mixed, flat, treble first - CCGDD CBGAG

Fifth Measure

Last but not least, there is the fifth measure. The fifth measure is 6 steps down from the fourth. The fifth measure is interesting because it only has a bass line, no treble line, and the pattern is slightly varied from the bass lines in the previous four measures. Additionally, it's difficult to distill a 5 gram from this measure; since the progression is only 6 notes long there would be only 5 letters with one number left over. Leaving no stone unturned, we'll try it anyway. In my opinion, the fifth measure could possibly be an agent code...

The fifth measure has many sharps and flats, so there are a few different combinations we can come up with. I did not account for the "plucked" notes, as they have no tone. I was thinking they could possibly count for 0, or possibly indicate a repeat of the note that came directly before it, but I did not try this in any of the calculations. Feel free to do so.

Notation:
Sharp - F#C#G#C#D#C#
Flat - GbDbAbDbEbDb

Number yield:
Sharp - 637343
Flat - 741454

Possible 5 gram yield:

Sharp - FCGCD || C
Flat - GDADE || D

Well, that's the end of my analysis, it probably won't produce any results, but feel free to try any of these out, and please try out any other ideas you may have. Please let me know if I missed anything. Thanks, and hope this helps.
