[OT?] The newest Truth commercial... I was exactly sure of what I was watching last night when a commercial came on featuring amateurish camera movements and loud street noise. Those wacky anti-big-tobacco guys were at it again... They had some fire engine and were raising one of their boys (the Truth guys, not a fireman) up on the ladder towards an office building, holding up a sign with "Q: somethingsomething" on it, and ranting about "fire-safe" cigarettes, and how they're only sold in NY, where their office building allegedly is located. The Question was why not everywhere?
Anyways, at the end of the commercial, as I shook my head in disgust at how dumb those commercials are, a girl runs up to a trash can, slaps on a sticker with an A: on it, and the screen says "Ask questions, something" (I'm paraphrasing from a poor memory. Sorry.) right below the sticker from a street-side camera angle. Then, that text goes away, and the word "truth" appears in orange bubbles as usual, but just to the left of it in white letters is the word "seek".
SUMMARY for those with ADD, like me: At the end of a Truth ad, it says "seek truth" at the bottom of the screen!
I was caught completely off guard and nearly spat a mouthful of Coke on my cousin, who would've been upset at me because neither he nor my other cousin sitting in the room know anything about ILB, and would be wondering what my problem was. I swear if there had been an exclamation point before the word seek I might've fainted.
In other ILB-outside-ILB news... one of Eminem's tracks on his latest CD (which I just got today) is titled "Yellow Brick Road"... sound familiar to anyone else?

Yeah, it's from the Wizard of Oz... somehow I doubt that Eminem has heard of ILB.

Oh, I know.. it's just that anything ILB related catches my eye or ear these days, even if the ILB thing in question comes from somewhere else (as a lot of them do).

So the anti-tobacco guys (who I agree with, yet hate their ads as they are annoying) found us, hm? Seek Truth...that or Seeker managed to somehow influence the commercial's content

some of their commercials are actually pretty good... like the one where they actually pulled off unloading truckloads of 'bodies' in body bags in front of an office building... or where they stuck signs in doggy doodoo and got people's reactions as they walked by... things like that... it's like reality-tv for commercials. They're all over-the-top, but that's the whole point... their website usually has all their commercials and videos they've created. I'll have to go check out this one and see how dumb it is

Over the top is for getting the point across to children. Believing that, I find myself generally incensed by their strategies.

My question's always been where the money for those Truth ads comes from. Is it from cigarette taxes? If so, aren't there other, more relevant uses for that money? This does not seem to be a cheap ad campaign.
